RWC: All Blacks - Canada (02-10-2011, 15:30)

Canada is playing well we just can't defend the breakouts, DTH being out of the game really hurts and we miss Pritch at FB

Slade looks nervous ass. Can't blame him though all the talk has been about us being doomed with DC injured, he must be under hell of a lot of pressure. He' had one good break so far and does looks good in patches. So hope he relaxes a bit in the second half.

The Wellington wind isn't helping his kicking either :\ .

I expected the all blacks to put a 100 on us so this is not too bad... guys look fatigued though and the lack of turn around between this game and the Japan game is hurting us for sure.

Well, I'm not too impressed with some of the silly mistakes but I'm happy with the pressure and the fact that they're not letting up simply because the ABs are running away with it. Very good pressure with that last try before the half.

TBH, even with the scoreline, the All Blacks haven't really shown their dominance. They've shown some excellent passing and have a good nose for breaking that Canadian backline but still.... I think they could play better.

Very sad that DTH is off.

We looked good for first five minutes and final five minutes, we need to slow down the game and not panic.

P.S. why hasn't Heinzy been negged into the stoneage yet?

Yeahhhh!!! Go Canada first time we have had two tries against NZ

Please don't get to 100. New Zealand is just another monster compared to the other nations.

Canada has looked ok on the attack, too bad we didn't distribute this well against france and japan. I would like to point out that Canada's outline outside of Monro and Smith are Trainor (22) White (23) MacKenzie (24) and Evans (23.) I expect Hiriyama (23) at some point. Very young backline and they have looked like it at points. Trainor has been stepping it up.

I'm happy so see Canada going for the tries and playing an attacking style. It's almost as if they are ignoring how many they give and just focusing on how many they out up. Which really come on it's the ABs you gotta find some way to keep playing.

New Zealands scrum is pure domination. Poor Marshall vs Woodcock isn't even fair.

About Pritchard earlier, I wasn't trying to put any blame on him, he's a great kicker when he's on, but Canada at some point are going to need a Rees or a Barker, an elite goal kicker that we've already produced twice.

YESS TRAINOR!!!!!!

I think Barker might still hold the highest % for an international kicker ever, unfortunately he wasn't a great FH in other assets. Rees was the most skilled all around player we have ever produced.

Edit: Time to get Hamilton onto the field?

Edit Edit: LOL I must be prescient.

What a hit. Kleeburger is 216, Woodcock is 260.
Woodcock was knocked clear off his feet.
Huge hit. Kleeburger had better be alright but had also better receive a contract from someone after this tournament.

Agreed Kleeburger is a beast.

It was an ok performance by the All Blacks, definitely not as one sided as the score line suggests. Credit to Canada for the way they played. Other than the scrums they weren't totally outplayed in any other parts of the game.

Weepu definitely looked better at number 10 than Slade, he just has to clean up his passing a bit. Maybe the sudden case of dropsies by both teams and some awful passing could be partially blamed on the weather. The problem now I guess is who is our half back. Personally thought Cowan had a crap game some of his passing was terrible.

Also, this is likely to be the last time Zac features in this world cup if Kahui and Jane come back but he definitely redeemed himself today.

Not a terrible result. Could have been worse, Canada made some mistakes that gave away tries but that's all part of improving. Can't get better until you screw up. Felt our back line attacked well and that you could see at numerous points in the game Canada chose to attack rather that go for field position. Looked like they have some fun out there.

Front row looked over match but should improve as Marshall and Hamitlon play more.
Sinclair, Kleeburger and Carpenter played great.
I liked Hiriyama at the end of the game at fullback or flyhalf, really sees the field well.
Trainor had a few errors but came back with 2 tries, really wish we could have seen him and DTH, but that's for the future.
I feel a bit bad for Evans as New Zealand is probably the most difficult team in the world to play as a 15 and he had no warm up into this match.

That Kleeburger hit was amazing. Really needs an overseas contract.
Imagine him and Trainor may be receiving a call or 2 now that the tournaments done.

overall Canada had a fine world cup. they tried to play beautiful rugby and that's why they conceded 12 tries but this scoreline doesn't reflect their performance this year. I hope Canada will come back even stronger in 2015. in fact I hope so called minnows will compete for the playoffs next time around. Cheers
