RWC: Ireland - Italy (02-10-2011, 20:30)

Castro went off as he pulled the Gluteus Maximus, early on in the first half.

Salvatore Perugini switched to play tighthead. Andrea Lo Cicero (I think you are confusing him with Castro) has come on at loosehead.

ah ok, didnt see the sub. watching a stream online with argentine commentary so not able to follow it so well. cian healy looking strong today as against wallabies

He can't use the lesser nations argument this time

true, although samoa have been much better value than italy this rwc.

and everyone gets on england's and nz's back about bringing in foreign players. italy's squad looks like the contents of a departure lounge at an international airport

Eh? Luke McClean is a foriegner, and there's a few Argentinian Borns...but that's not really an issue as about half of Argentina is of Italian descent...

Who else?

Are there a lot of Italian blokes with names like Cornelius van Zyl and Paul Derbyshire? :p

edit: on the point of the Argentines, it is a shame. The Pumas have been ravaged by injury this RWC, the players who went to Italy would have been the strength in depth they needed.

Diving in for the try?
I hope someone injures Earls!
Disrespectful scumbag!

Ironically Paul Derbyshire is actually Italian!
I thought the same when he first came onto the international scene, but he was born and raised in Italy

Come oooooooooooooooooooooon, it's his biiiiiiirthdaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, woo hoo, Just Wales and England to go before we lose to New Zealand in the final.

Yep. Born and raised in Tuscany from English father.

No desrespect to me, I don't mind, you're scoring a try after a great match played by your team, desrespect IMO is Perugini, Ghiraldini or Bergamasco behaviour.
Go out and play rugby, that's what you've got to do, not seeking for fight at every ruck or scrum.

Credit to Ireland, I hope they can go far from this!
I thought the gap was narrower than this...

until half time I was hopeful, then during the second half Ireland became the better team. O'Brien is a beast. Congrats Ireland.
Pity Italy couldn't squeeze in a try.

I did expect a bit more of Mirco Bergamasco. He was a pit absent this game (didn't had a very good RWC campaign).

But Italy brought some good foot and today they fought for the full 80 minutes.

It is, Italy just gave up when it was 19-6 in my mind. They completely lost it, shame cause if things would've gone a little bit different they could've scored first.

Actually. The tele is making a good point. All the talk about O'Brien but Ferris was phenomenal aswell. Great player.

Today he's been better than SOB, IMO.

Yup.

Don't think the Italians should be too worries about this as a reflection of the team. They just lost their heads in the second half. Couple of changes, move some of the older/crankier players to the bench and you'll be flying again.

Italian teams in the PRO12 looking sharp aswell at the moment.

They were crap at picking clips to show as well - SOB made some great runs today smashing through/flattening players, but when they were talking about him they just showed ones of him getting tackled instead

Worried about Best injury. I think he's our Stephen Moore in the Scrum and down to third choice Hooker isn't good.

Can't wait for Wales vs Ireland. Should be a cracking match.

I think Wales are the best they've been in about 5 years. If they beat Ireland I think they have the best chance of upsetting New Zealand,
