I didn't know the world needed a remake of The Naked Gun, but at this moment I'm somewhat intrigued.

Just no! Sorry, Liam neeson is a good serious/ action actor. But comedy acting is different. Even Steve Martin couldn't replace Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther.

Steve Martin could never replace Phil Silvers as Sgt Bilko either, but they still cast him.

I'm just sceptical about it working. Another remake of a classic. Will it add to the legacy of the films or just yet again shows Hollywood has run out of ideas. Neeson as Frank Drebin Jnr and the Guy who played Stingray in Cobrai Kai tv series as his partner's son - groan!

Don't forget Naked gun was borne out of Police squad tv series so Leslie Nielsen had form before Airplane until they made movies.

Issue with remakes is that it's a very fine line to tread. Can't just remake the original because then it will have nothing new and will just be compared to the original. On the other hand you can't go too far away because then people will say it's not like the original. Tbh I don't think they'll get the balance right and will probably go too far away from the original.

Seth MacFarlane and Akiva Schaffer being the producer/director gives me some hope as they're both very experienced in comedy and will have a lot of respect for the originals/won't bend to external pressure to make it something they're not on board with
