Aviva Premiership - Round 21

Bath avoided a card luckily, was a good game though.
Bt have announced viewing figures are up 10% again after 40 % season before, good signs. Attendances in ground up as well.

The WC should have a positive effect on those figures too

I just watched it back, am I the only one who thinks Attwood's wasn't a penalty? I thought it looked like he stood up, saw Care had the ball in his hands (therefore the ruck was over) and hit him? Wilson's was pretty cynical though, should have been a card - although I doubt there are many refs who would have dared to give a yellow for a professional foul almost on halfway.

The maul situation was just weird, pretty much identical situations, we get a yellow but no penalty try, they get a penalty try but no yellow, what the ****?!

Our away kit does look a lot better in person than on the mockup, it's bloody bright though! Hopefully the club shop starts stocking Sale sunglasses, or welders masks.

Edit:
Cueto try!
Brady could've easily ran it in himself but passed it on to the old dog :D

Decent enough game, bit scrappy/loose, lotsa tries. Very nervy last couple of minutes, but can't argue with the 5 pts.

Just seen that Kvesic got a straight red for a tip tackle in the Gloucester game!
Depending on the ban length that could really harm his RWC chances - I know he's not going to miss the summer or anything, but being unavailable for the BaaBaas game will put a black mark by his name.

Think that's a clear red card, but the TMO's said it wrong - that was shoulder to shoulder and head to head.
Still a red card but there was no shoulder to head contact.

Good use of the TMO for him to step in, though.

Very very very stupid thing to do now though, I thought Tigers looked like they'd win this quite handily, but now they'll be lucky to get a LBP.

Talking of reds ... Seremaia Bai just got a straight red for a horrendous clearout on Nathan Hughs - sprinted ten metres to hit him with shoulder and head straight to the back of head as he was looking the other way.

Leicester really dominating, playing better than they have all season, that could be a serious gamechanger.

True, but does it matter? It's literally a flying headbutt, the shoulder's pretty irrelevant to me

Nathan Hughes is a menace at the breakdown as well as ball carrying skills.

Not at all - as I said, it's a clear red.
Would just like to see more accuracy there, in a different situation it could be the difference between a red card and play on (say if the TMO says he's shouldered someone in the face in a tackle, when in reality it was an accidental head clash).
Just me being a pedant

I don't think 6 points is enough of a lead for Tigers to hang on with 14 guys :/

What a stupid thing to do from Bai- was having a great game as well. I'm still not writing Leicester out of this though...they know how to win big games.

Agree with that - I'm not expecting a whole lot of rugby to be played in the 2nd half now.
In Miller, Wade and Daly Wasps have players to punish any loose kicks, but I'm expecting a lot of aiming for the corner.

Our best game of the season so far and then that.

If we somehow win it would be a massive massive effort.

Unfortunately I can't see that happening what so ever!

Apologies, I skimmed over your post and misunderstood your point. Can't blame a man for being a pedant when it comes to the TMO, surely pedantry is the whole point!

Mullan is having a good game in the scrum (again).

How is Masi back on? He went off with a leg injury
Did they play it off as a head injury assessment/blood sub so they could treat him during half time and see if he could come back on?

Pretty sure they do that as rote now, tbh.

Thompstone looks like Ashton.

I know Tigers are a man down but in no way shape or form should Andy Goode be able to chip over the top AND collect the ball.

You'd be forgiven in thinking Tigers are a lock down or something, they're getting overpowered by the Wasps pack by quite a lot - and this is a Wasps pack with a very lightweight second row in Gaskell and Myall.

Looks like Simpson has been done late there. Penalty I think, probably no more.

Really annoyed about that- especially if there is a medium term injury resulting from it, he should have been pushing for an England spot.
