Aviva Premiership - Round 21

You are joking
Not really,
He's a good player but not to the extent he's been talked up.
Just much prefer Beaumont and Evans.

Has Clifford had a stint at 7s? Could see him doing well there.

Edit: Just seen he did a couple of Sevens legs last year.

He's spent most of his time at 6 and has only started a few games at 8- I think he'd excel across the backrow though.
Why do prefer Beaumont/Evans?

Prefer a more powerful player at 8 - both have excellent hands too, and are surprisingly quick for their size - Clifford is definitely faster and more agile, but I prefer the power there.
Can definitely see Clifford playing on the flank - though 8 will be his position going forward (they mentioned earlier that he wants/COS wants him to be Easter's replacement).

Yup.
It's why I prefer him on the wing - wouldn't want him as last line of defence for England, if Brown is out.

To be fair, that was a tough tackle because he needed to knock Monye back as otherwise Monye's momentum would've carried him through to the line. But yeah, I agree that his defence is at times shaky (hence why I prefer Roko for England).

If we want a wing who can't tackle, but has wheels and scores trys, then May and Wade are better options (they run better support lines too)

Ah come on, his decision making is better than May and his tackling is better than Wade!

Agree that he's not in any way an international class defender though. Roko needs to get back to full form because he really is the package at his best

I'm so relieved we scraped that, went to the stoop with a Quins supporter and very nearly regretted it. Showed a real issue with Bath though, still capable of under performing with basic errors when under pressure and lacking a bit of leadership
