[2015 RWC] Pool A: Wales vs. Fiji (01/10/2015)

We're missing our two best wingers Nadolo and Nayacalevu. Nadolo makes a huge difference, you can definitely notice the difference in the Crusaders when they don't have Nadolo there to get over the gain line or draw in defenders opening up spaces for others. Another of our best players Matawalu is also out injured and for some reason the coach isn't playing Peceli Yato who is one of our best forwards. He played so well against Australia but for some reason the coach isn't playing him. If we had Matawalu, Nadolo and Yato I'd say we had a real chance at winning, but with this team I can't see it happening. Not unless the Fijians really step it up to fill the void left by these players

I'd say this Fijian team is actually better than the one in 2007. Our set pieces are way better we can actually compete at scrums now :D. Look at our game against Australia in 07 where we got thrashed 55 - 12 compared to last weeks. Its just a shame we got this tough draw. I'd say Fiji was the best of the three pacific island sides at the moment

Have to say I have a lot of respect for you guys , always come to play rugby and that's what we like in Wales , really looking forward to the cibi and a great atmosphere, may the best team win let's leave it all out there .

This Fijian team is a far better unit than their two losses so far suggest. This isn't going to be an easy game for us. However, if we keep it tight, work on the set pieces and retain the ball the gaps will appear. That is what my head says,,,,however, I am not sure my heart can take this much stress!

hopefully this wont be a tight game, i really cant handle it all again haha

Any predictions for the game, I'm nervous for the new lads especially Matthew Morgan at full back he is going to experience a lot of pressure and I hope he has the temperamnet to handle it , we could see a more composed and experienced priestland come on if Morgan isn't up to the job , I only think gatland will bring on hook as a last resort due to an injury or if we are chasing the game down the stretch

From an English perspective, there is only one way I want this game to go but as a rugby fan I'm looking forward to a cracking game from both sides. It should be a great match with hidden class emerging on both sides. Hopefully some players will make a name for themselves today. Best of luck to both teams.

The nerves are really getting to me now. Rugby does it to me every time. When I used to play I was sick before games (maybe that was from the beer the night before!).

I fancy Davies to be pivotal in the game, if he plays really well we will be comfortable (ish).

I'm sure morgan will be fine, I think hook is mainly covering centre, as there's nobody else that has played there before apart from him, well and north but we have no wing cover. Hopefully we will get the bonus point but it will be tough. I'm gonna say wales by 18

Try being English....

It's not in the spirit of rugby, and I apologise to Welsh friends and posters alike, but C'MON FIJI!!! (can't really see anything other than Welsh win though)

I hope your right about Morgan we need somebody reliable there , you think we will win by 18 , I wish I had your confidence, I'm saying Wales by 10

I think it will be close most of the game but in the last half hour-20 mins when we unload the bench I'm expecting a couple of try's

Really hope nipper takes his chance.Think if he can use that deadly step and get out of the way of those heavy hitting fijians,he could cut them to pieces. On the other hand he could also be "cut to pieces" if he gets clocked. Cmon wales!

You are a nasty man young fella,,,,,,,But I do understand!! ;) It is in our hand's though. My wife and I went out for dinner tonight,,,,bit of sashimi, sake,,,,,I am so bloody nervous about this!! By the way, I hope you English heathens beat the shackle draggers...Obviously after we beat the Fijians...Please God!! ;)

Nerves are starting to jangle now, I can hear the echo of the cipi in my ears ..the atmosphere is electric at the world's greatest rugby stadium, the dragon comes out breathing fire at the Fijians who respond with a ferocious attack , THERES chants of deliah in the air as the welsh go through the phases , alas a penalty , up steps super Dan , the biggarena is evident as he calmy slots the 3 pointer as the teams head back for battle the dragon has the advantage but the Fijian warriors come out strong throwing the ball about like men possessed , power pace , and a try in the corner.. The welsh are strong though , they remember the battle at twickenham, suddenly the heads go up a perfectly placed restart from superdan has the Fijians in trouble , Big turnover for Wales , lightening quick ball by Gareth Davies , Alan wyn makes a few yards , fast ball again by the welsh great hands by Warburton the captain tonfind young tyler morgan in acres of space , he darts and weaves finds north who drifted in from his wing, acres of space TRY FOR WALES ..the war has just begun

English Interest in this game,

Simply put if England score 5 points against Uruguay we will beat Wales in group standings (beating Aus in the standings is purely up to us) if

a) we score 1 less group point against Aus than they do against Fiji

b) they score 0 group points against Aus

Obviously there several bits of Maths that can be applied to that but gives us an idea of bare minimum we have to do on Saturday to keep hopes alive

How has it worked that a World Cup in England ends with Wales having home advantage and playing in Cardiff?

Fiji looking totally different to the team that played aus and eng.

Oh My God the Fijian's scrum is destroying Wales! Wales have the heaviest pack in the tournament and they scrum like little girls!

If Fiji don't gas they are in with a great shout of winning this.
