Fiji Squad for World Cup

Could even have have Bai @ 10 nadolo @ 12 and Goneva @13
Sure, I just happen to be a huge fan of Nayacalevu at 13 - he was good at 14 for SF, but he was just great at 13. But your way would solve the 10 problem, which is a huge plus (can Goneva play 14 btw?)

Goneva is a brilliant winger, his form wasn't great this year but was unplayable before.

Yeah he so good at 13 against Samoa, he's made selecting that midfield even harder. Goneva is really good, but those two big runs Nayacalevu made against Samoa in the final, idk if Goneva would have had the speed to do that. There's also Botia and Josh Matavesi who can play at 12.

well i don't think he's made himself available to be picked for Fiji, because he wants to play for the wallabies. So it's not that he's not allowed, he just doesn't want to. Of course, if he played for Fiji he would never be allowed to play for the Wallabies.

He wants to play for the wallabies, but has committed to a year for Glasgow Warriors..

He originally signed for Glasgow with the aim of eventually playing for Scotland. Then he wanted out because he wanted to play for Australia. Now he probably will stick with plan A.

Based on his game against Japan he still seems really selfish. Blew a given try because he wanted to score it.

Have to say, I really hope Bobo makes it to the RWC. Fiji are stocked with great wing talent, but Bobo has looked great every time he has stepped out for Fiji even at the age of 39. Still has some very serious gas. No idea how well he is playing with La Rochelle though.

Not sure if this has been answered but he left LaRochelle at the end of last season and is shown on Rugby-Transfers.com as retired although would not be surprised to see him pop up at a Pro2 team!

Bobo has signed with Toulon: http://www.planetrugby.com/story/0,25883,9818_65658,00.html

Final world cup squad for Fiji:

Pretty much the same as the PNC squad. Only differences are Nalaga missing out through injury and Leeroy Atalifo replacing Taniela Koroi. Tim Nagusa also missed out through injury. Not sure why Yanuyanutawa isn't in the squad. Overall I think its a pretty good team for Fiji. As long as they can keep improving from the PNC and gel together as a team. Still a lot of competition in the center and wing positions.

you see clearly my friend.

contrary to Naiyaravoro, Volavola would make his debut with fiji against maori ABs test

I was thinking how Kerevi and Naiyaravoro were named in the Wallabies squad but neither actually got any game time. You think their selection was only to prevent them from playing for Fiji and Aus never intended them to actually be in the team? It was odd how they selected Naiyaravoro even though he was already going overseas. Then again they did bring in Matt Giteau from Toulon

Weird to see Seremaia Bai, Napolioni Nalaga, Timoci Nagusa only listed in the non-traveling reserves. Several of the outside backs they have gone with aren't as good. Part of me wonders whether Nalaga missing out has anything to do with Toulon...

Bai is old now, Nalaga injured himself during the PNC (he wasn't bad, but far away from his best level during the PNC), Nagusa recovers from an injury and he wasn't at 100% i believe, 2nd time Nagusa missed the world cup, always made himself available to fiji for the pnc these last years, i feel bad for him because he deserves to play the world cup.

The odd thing is Nalaga was initially dropped from the squad before the PNC. He was only brought back in because Nadolo got injured. He only got 1 start this year against Japan. I think he was pretty decent, he made that good run against Japan setting up that try for Matavesi. But he didn't get too many opportunities. Tikoirotuma was on and off this year. He was good in the first game against Samoa but his defense was really bad in the 2nd game.

Center's are gonna be hard to choose. Nayacalevu was pretty good at center against Samoa, I'm not sure if Goneva would have made those two runs Nayacalevu made which set up those two tries. Then there's also Botia, Nadolo and Matavesi. I think if Tim Nagusa had recovered he still should have been chosen. They selected Netani Talei who was injured and didn't play during the PNC. It was odd how they never selected Yanuyanutawa either. But I have been impressed by Saulo and Peni Ravai.

You guys seen this Peni Ravai? He's played prop, hooker, wing and center for his clubs and even played sevens for Fiji
