Aviva Premiership - Round 10

yep, just saw it, waste of his and everyone else's time - he pretty much walked on the pitch then walked off.
He had to make it onto the pitch though, otherwise who would the press use in their main photo for the game? The guy who scored a brace? MOTM? Nah, stick Sam there instead.

think how much he could raise the profile of the A league

Aye, that does look good - really like the Wasps walls/floor in the tunnel too, looks very swish.

Those in goals look tiny!

Oosh, jammy try that! :D

Pitch is not enjoying the scrums, cutting up worse than the MilStad.

Ssssspanked!

Regardless of what I thought when it first came up I thought it was really impressive at the Ricoh, if they can keep crowd numbers up around 15-20,000 they will be rolling.

New pitch on the way as well......

28-29k.

Immense. Just wish it was like that for a few teams around the league. Reckon Quins could hit 25k regularly. We always had massive support around the country in general. Leicester probably 33-35k.

Complete joke clueless, one dimensional rugby again Smith has got to go he is s***.

If that's what the atmosphere's like when it's nearly full, imagine what it'll be like when there's only half that...

I can see the bitter taste lingering for a very, very long time.

Realistically, though, is that ever going to happen?
Once the novelty, and deals, wear off I can see them averaging out at about 7-10k tops.

Oh, I agree. But that's still a significant bump, plus additional income. It's no a bad start.

Maybe if Bath didn't spend all their money rugby league players and South Africans they too could upgrade their park pitch to a quality set up like Wasps. :D

Money isn't an issue - it's the planning permission in a residential area of a World Heritage Site that's causing the problems.
Something you don't really have to consider in a place like Coventry.

Perhaps if Wasps had kept their own park pitch they wouldn't have been so close to insolvency and be in a position where they didn't have to completely abandon their home for the previous century.

Don't be Lemon mate, I'm sure they will let you boys rent it out when you finally get to a game worth scaling up for. ;)

Good Final quarter there but frankly Irish ruined that game as a spectacle in the earlier stages by the sheer number of penalties - around 20 wasn't it?
Not convinced by the refereeing - they had accrued 12 penalties and he told Irish they needed to "sort out their discipline" - that message should go out a lot earlier and the card a lot sooner.

I still have no clue where Wasps sit in relation to other teams. When we play at our best, with that back-row creating space for our runners, there are few more dangerous teams to watch. We're still largely predictable as a collective, mind.

yep agree with all that, were still a midtable side with grand aspirations. maybe two-three seasons from being top four or relegation material.

we are a little bit like Sale and Exeter.

I thought Irish were hard down by at times.

They are what they are. Very aggressive at the breakdown, good line speed and good tacklers. Games against them are never pretty. Hughes was smashed a few times.

Thought they played to their strengths and Coventry Wasps struggled to break them down.

Got them eventually but they were never going to make it easy.
