Aviva Premiership - Round 10

Silly of Hartley ! Smith did the same to him as Dylan did to Dane Coles in the autumn . Looking to rile him and get a reaction and he got exactly that .....

Agreed, yellow all day long. Compare this to the tuilagi hayemakers a few years back and that is nothing.

Should stress that I havn't seen it but if it happned like I read it did then Hartley should have got a red. You cant elbow someone in the face regardless if he was pulling your shirt or not.

I agree, elbow to the face should be a red. Technically, a punch should be straight red and an elbow is worse

"Sky the Home of Rugby"....considering they do not have the 6N, they do not have the RWC and do not have the premier club competition in their major market - their spin is up there with Griffiths of Sarries!!!

Burrell has had a brilliant game! Most of the team has! Speechless with how well we have played with 14 men.

Brilliant from the saints fully deserved win Burrell and the forwards were immense.

Fair play Northampton . Deserved it though Wood did well not to give away a million penalties this game maybe he only does it for England ?

To be fair it was a great game . But we haven't learned anything . A few rugby players have started to dive and Hartley is a prat .....

Scrums have become a joke year on year. I feel if the ball goes to the back of the scrum the team should use it instead of waiting for someone to slip to gain a penalty.

Ford was excellent in that first half. Great tactical kicking off the tee, great passing and tactically to put bath in the right areas.

How is Barritt ahead of either Joseph or Burrell? It boggles my mind.

That Bath vs Glos game has to be one of the most dire scrummaging performaces I've seen.

It's getting to the point now where WR are going to have to impose a minimum back angle (or maximum distance for set-up) for the front row and anyone who pulls below it is pinged... props are trying to scrummage lower than they are capable of doing.
That's the fundamental issue causing collapses.

I thought both Wood and Burrell were class yesterday, that was 2011 Wood, the one Lancaster was going to make England Captain. Burrell was amazingly physical and really showed up.

Feel a bit undecided about Hartley's card. To be fair you can do a lot of Damage with the Elbow, broken cheek bone or nose- much easier then with a punch. But Smith, my gosh, terrible.

Surely the time for carding OTT hollywoods is coming in rugby...

Didn't see bath's game how did our man Sam go?

If you want to hurt someone with your arm, use your elbow, not the fist. Can do plenty of damage.

Hit someone in the face, you give the ref an opportunity to hand out a red. That simple and I hope Lancaster omits him from the next EPS.

I can get how people are against the current standards and wish things like that weren't a red card - but anyone who thinks that's not a red simply hasn't been paying attention to how the game's being reffed.

edit: Slammin' Sam only got 12 minutes.
