Premiership Rugby 19/20 - Round 4

Wasps paid the price for having a back row of
6 Brad Shields (20)
7 Nizaam Carr (43)
8 Sione Vailanu (7)

No real breakdown specialist

van de merwe was at almost every breakdown clearing out but didnt actually carry that much yet when he did he is so hard to stop. When both curries and both du preez are in the pack he will be able to focus on carrying more and could be epic for you.

Van der Merwe's growing isn't great though. Webber improved Sale's lineout and scrum significantly when he came on.

It's a dilemma for Diamond as one offers more dynamism and the other brings a very solid set piece game that served them very well last season.

That said, their lineout is going to be hit by Beaumont and de Jager's injuries. Evans is good but old and Phillips is just OK. With Wilson back, I can see them moving one of the du Preez twins to lock.

We've been using the twins in the second row quite a lot this season
I really like Philips - he's only club level but he's an old school tighthead lock, and excels there.

I think next week it'll be
Evans/Philips
Ross, Curry, du Preez

Du Preez, Wilson

(I'm guessing Wilson will be back involved earlier than Curry/Faf as he played a fraction of the rugby they did)

I'm guessing we'll look for injury cover if Beaumont's injury is as bad as it looked - Lood is already out for a large chunk of the season, if josh is as well then we've only got two dedicated locks in the senior squad

Yeah, you'd definitely need to bring someone in. Faf's probably already on the phone to one of his Saffa buddies.

Ross akker oosthasen(how over you spell it)
De jager D du preez
Curry J du preez curry

Sarries haven't entirely lost their knack of getting away with stuff, 7 penalties in about 5 minutes in the 22 for nowt more than an ineffectual talking to

As much as I don't like salary cap cheats I don't like shedheads more, so them getting nothing after the way they've been carrying on all week/all game is nice to see

Craig Maxwell-Keys....... Sarries could probably have committed an actual murder and just had a stern talking too. Though as Olly says the self-appointed rugby aficionados in the shed had a lot to say whilst their team failed to really bother a Sarries second team that didn't actually play that well.......

CHIEFS SIDE TO FACE BRISTOL BEARS

15 Stuart Hogg
.
.
.

22 Gareth Steenson
23 Jack Nowell

Thats a strong team and Slade Nowell and LCD all back

I hope Hogg has done some tackling practice since last week when he waved both Worcester try scorers past and hardly laid a hand on them.

Nah, he's been coaching Bears' D this week imparting his wisdom.

Don't feel we are getting any calls but can't argue the score really. Missing Molton, Thacker hasn't been himself all season and rightfully second choice at the moment. Would like to have one piece of foul play checked on Exeter clear out during final few minutes of half whilst we attempting to turn ball over. Centre partnership isn't right either, haven't clicked there since Siale returned from world cup duty. Bedlow should be starting 12 with Hurrell outside (or O'Connor). Hurrell at 12 is better too IMO, Siale probably needs a rest and time to get back into systems after a tough RWC. Also Uren will provide better service but understand the rotation.

35 points isn't going to be enough.
A lot is banked on the 7 games we have the Internationals in for.

Although now we have lost Veainu and Liebenberg to injuries as well.
