O'Brien should be okay. Hes trotting around even today, hes just not ready for a test match.

Ferris and Wallace always needed the game time anyhoo so no big deal.

O'Driscoll needs to rest his Shoulder. Again no big deal.

Matt Banahan and Shontayne Hape were named in the England squad - I need others to feel the pain that I'm in

Apart from deacon and wigglesworth I think that's a decent side. And wiggleswortjh isn't bad I just would have poreferred simpson but his pace off the bench may prove to be exactly what we need. I think its good to have those beefy experienced guys in the front row because the moment ireland realise they're in a test match against their most hated rivals the energy and ferocity with which they flood the breakdown is incredible. We've also got a. Good ish mix ofagility and bulk in that pack.

Not sure why kidney has gone for those centres. I think lining up someone who can play 12 other than darcy should be more pressing than trying out someone else at 13.hers hoping we can target their 10-13 channel with tuilagi and then get quick ball to the back 3

Judging by the packs performance last week against France (not the Munster players though, they were awesome in all aspects of the game), and the continued selection of Leinster players over their obviously superior and more versatile Munster brethren, I think we are going to get mullered up front. England should hold most of the ball so I imagine with a 70:30 posession split in their favour, we will only win by 15-20 points.

The alternative of course will be that Tuilagi and Tindall have a field day running at O'Gara and Earls (will be D'Arcy's fault of course) and we only win by 12-15. I'm not sure really.

With all of his SUPER defensive work, which is kinda' funny because he is a liability in attack (when off form.) requires that you need a better defense. It's like some horrible form of circular-logic.

Lads ROG was always starting this game as him and Sexton were always getting 2 starts each.
Ferris has been rushed back and well that is why Donnacha Ryan is selected over Leo Cullen for this game as apparently all 3 of the backrow are capable of breaking down wit injury.
Earls starting at 13 is bad for Keith and BOD. For Keith because he wanted another go in the 11 shirt but I think he could perform well this week as he has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove a point. But also this is bad for BOD because he had a poor 80 against France last week and well he is entering the world cup well under cooked. That isn't the biggest concern because he is good enough to overcome that but his shoulder seems to be more problematic than we think and well in a scenario such as a World Cup where there is alot of physicality in a short period then we have to hope the shoulder doesn't give up and go altogether.

England might get the majority of possession, but it will be slower than Tindall after our pack has finally beaten the Irish off it. Not optimistic.

It's going to be Tindal tacking it up hard, then Tuilagi hard and fast and then hopefully create some room for the likes of Ashton and Foden. Should be some match, hoping England will retain some of there form ahead of the WC then I can see England winning this one. If not.. I wont be very happy at the end of the match.

Sad to say but very true. I can see Tackle, slow ball, pass to pod of forwards, Tackle, slow ball, pass to front row on a standing start, tackle, slow ball, pass......hold on turn over

Lads, what's the craic with Keith Earls getting 13?

He's had 2 good run outs (by good I mean extended quality game time, not performance) already and we are very much aware of what he can do. Would starting McFadden not have been a better option?
He got a run out against Scotland in a 2nd string team, a lineup which would impact on anyone trying to make a name for themselves as they're not surrouned by the quality of our first (or atleast better) XV. He got some gametime against France in bordeaux which was decent and then got what I think barring in terms of fitness, was a fairly meaningless runout against the mighty Connacht.

He's a natural centre, he's probably the future... why not give him a proper chance surrounded by some of our best/better players in a game that will be played at full tilt test level? I'm glad he's atleast on the bench, but not if he only gets 10mins at the end, then there's hardly much point.

Keith is coming off a bad performance on the wing against France and slipped into centre where he was (and admittedly the rest of the team was) fairly toothless against France - he might have a chip on his shoulder or something to prove, but he would still have the same coming of the bench instead.

Am I at odds with everyone else's thinking here? Or does the above make sense?

Can understand you views Raziel but I'm presuming it's simply Earls has a better chance of making a start and Kidney probably wants to allow him another chance. I think it should be Trimble who gets the rest as he has produced the goods but also played all the games so far.
