[2021 Six Nations] England vs Scotland (06/02/21)

I dunno, I thought they did well in the ANC final. Never allowed the team to panic, kept plugging away and got the win in the end. You can't do that without some pretty good leadership.
Good leadership wouldn't have got us into extra time against France B/C at home in the first place.

Farrell like Brown was a great first lieutenant - and you absolutely need 3 or 4 of those. But like Gordon Brown, Steve McLaren and Stuart Lancaster he doesn't quite have what it takes for the top job. But he's been swimming uphill - it's unfair to dump the captaincy on FH and goal kicker.

Itoje might have what it takes, but has barely captained since U20s. Increasingly thinking it's time to find out.

Let's also remember his goal kicking was utterly shocking all match and he continued to allow himself to do it with two other goal kickers on the pitch. If he had the balls to show some leadership and give it to someone else England would never have been there in extra time. It was one of the worst demonstrations of leadership I've ever seen on a pitch and that include Robshaw against Wales in the World Cup.

I think that criticism of Daly is a little unfair he has been much improved at FB in his most recent performances not saying he's the best option but doesn't have the same clangers he did initially, the view of his being a huge liability is now slight outdated.
When he's under any pressure I suspect he wins no more than 50% (fewer cleanly) which isn't really good enough. And every time you drop the ball at FB there's potential for damage. Suspect he'll have a few bombs to deal with later on today.

I go into games thinking he has to do something special ball in hand or with the boot to come out of it with an OK overall performance.

All our good play today will come through Daly. Great player, pretty good fullback. The way we use we use full back Daly is almost ideal for it. Malins could be better tho :)

Couldn't quite believe it when the commentator just said that this is EJ's 6th Six Nations campaign - he still feels like a fairly new coach to me.
