England Six Nations Squad 2025

My Stevie B meter thinks we might see

6 curry
7 Earl
8 Wiilis

Or

6 Chessum
7 curry
8 Willis

Or maybe Willis on the bench and Earl at 8. That maybe seems more Borthwicky.

Any chance of Ollie Hassell-Collins getting an England recall? I never understood why Borthwick picked him and then suddenly dropped him.
I hope not, he's not a bad player there are just players which suit England better, have been in more consistent form for a long while and in all honesty currently deserve it more.

Henry Pollock was at the Allingment camp last week. So there is a chance he is called up on Tuesday (Which is his birthday) or put on standby incase of withdrawals

Will Chessum be match fit?

If we go with the first one...is a lack of a 3rd lineout option in the back row a problem?

Genuine question...
Why is Pollock getting the headlines over Pepper. Is it he's just a highlight reel player ..because he's not even close to Pepper as a genuine top class player yet.
In my opinion 😉

In fairness, Pollock has been very good - better than I actually expected. However, his highlight reel probably artificially inflates his usefulness from an all round POV.

He's new and shiny (and also very good)

Plus he puts himself out there more, in the media's eye
Loves a soundbite and is constantly kicking off or rubbing people's faces in it on the pitch - that makes highlight reels more than consistent good play alone (which he also has)

Might also have a good agent and/advisor who gets him interviews and other media coverage.

Don't mind mind all the rest of it, in fact I quite like it, provided he's delivering on the pitch, which he has.

But still don't want him in the Eng squad just yet. The trajectory has been all upward, before throwing him in let's see how he copes with the inevitable bumps in the road and his second season.

But all good so far.

Not sure why he'd up sticks to France after committing to Saints just last month. He's captained England at age grade so you'd assume , he's pretty loyal to England. I also think Dowson and co at Saints will keep him grounded.

Equally if he's good enough I'd give him a go. If England start getting injuries i can't see why not.

It would be pointless holding players back till 18 - 24 months out from a world cup. People keep saying top flight international rugby is a totally different game that players need caps and experience. Yet then don't want to give them that experience.

We'll all be moaning we have no caps and experience in a years time. That you need x amount of caps to win a world cup etc, etc
