Don't worry about that. I'm certainly going up 90% for the fun of the trip and to meet some TRF guys for a bit of a booze up.
I just like making GG think I really want to take him down. For all I know, I could be ousted early like anyone else.

Well from my experiences of being there at the beginning of games such as Karate Champ, Kung Fu Master, Street Fighter 2, Goldeneye, JLR........
......no one was "the" master within year of a games release.....
...so I know that the "unpredictability" tag is well and truly going to be floating around for all of us....there won't be someone who is head and shoulders above the rest.....
...but that is the beauty of a new game and its first comp......so many surprises!!!!
I know for myself that I am not 100% ready......or could it be that I play with a die hard fanatic who could write a thesis about every game he picks up. It is lucky for me that I do play with this very astute practitioner who abhores defeat.....he really raises the level of all who play him (or sends them into retirement). Having him in our crowd is almost the perfect preparation......rather than play with average guys and get a BIG beat down at the comp :lol:
For the record I will not be bringing this brilliant practitioner with me to the comp...otherwise he will kill us all. Also I think it should be TRF members only....just my opinion.
I will know when I am ready when I can defeat my freind.......as he has the uncanny knack of being able to quickly adapt to any new amazing strategy you think of. He is that good. In fact when I think of people who are talented or "gifted" in life at things.......I think of him.
So if the day comes when he realises that he cannot find a way to out think me.....that day you all may as well say Gay-Guy IS ALREADY TRF CHAMPION!!!!
....I better start thinking a bit harder when I train....we may also finally buy the game this week rather than hiring it all the time.

Sounds like your crowd is pretty good. Us guys are going into intensive prep this weekend.
Most important factor will be ball retention, then accurate, long clearances followed by best defensive selections based on field position.
We are also working on when to up and under, when not. We've got the skill moves covered, but set move option taking is still slightly scratchy.
I'm confident that we'll be ready.
Isn't it interesting that the two best prepared provinces appear to be Auckland and Southland? The top and bottom parts of the country. We can't return to Southland with Jafa on our face!

yeah i would like more competition but i have no show of getting any b4 the time comes...
though saying that when i won the nba live 95 competition in new zealand and coming 4th in australiasia i didnt have any practice either
had a fun free trip to melbourne 2

Its a shame I wont be able to make it i was really looking forward to the competition, not to mention challenge a few people on jonah on the side, if i recall correctly gay-guy you are a bit of a gun, would have been interesting as i reckon im not to shabby at it, although i havent played it in years

i'm from wellington my buddy, by the sounds of what i can read the comp will be in lower hutt? i'm about 15mins away, i live in the city.
my cousin isn't too much of an internet fan so i'm not sure if he'll be too keen to join the forum but he'd be keen to play in the tournament on my behalf haha.

The thing is, I am going to stop playing (haven't in a while actually...Not working) until the competition...Because if it's anything like golf, which it surely is, you play your best when its like your first time again....Actually the real reason is, I can't be bothered in between work, and 360...And it's broken anyway...
So anyway, I'm at $47 to win at the mo if anyones tempted.

Im definatelty gonna be wooden spooning it, rugby 06 + beer = wooden spoon fo me. Video games and drinking never goes in my favour. I always seem to get hit first and hardest. come to think of it, those ******** may hav been spiking my drinks all along! Hmmmm.......I hav a cunning plan..........perhaps ceejay will emerge champion after all.
