TRF Rugby Gaming Tournament '08

Hey, if it works out that way, it works out that way. All I know is I can't help it who turns up, I can just do my best to beat whoever's there. By sounds of things we'll have about 7 people anyway. So, I could have a good shot at being TRF champ. If Gay-Guy and Woosaah can't be there, that's not up to me.

A shorter road to glory, maybe? :D

well i find out on thursday if one of them has a job, and if that works out then possible the two will have a job by the end of next week.

then a week in chch for work, then i should be sweet. If i can ill try not spend any money at the casino. but if i dont do that then i may not have the chance to make more money :)

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it goes. :) It'll be a huge weekend either way. I've got plenty of drink stashed away, so I'll be happy any which way, lol.

It is starting to look more and more unlikely that I can make it due to my finances....so at this point in time it is looking like 2008 is the year of the IVERSON......so early congrats to Amy :p

However.....there is still time...who knows.

Oh yes, Well I can tell you now, my basic play has never been snappier, nor have been the comments from disappointed and hurt people who have played me this winter!!!

Lol well you would have had me for sure then...I struggle against players who do the basics well....I am always looking for the flash inside outside combos that I never see the prop running the ball straight through and only click on when he is like 5 metres away from the line! I am always overmarking and kick myself when my players are yet again looking bemused watching another conversion.

Lol I dont mean to be a blender but I know what you mean. When I become an expert in a game I tend to have trouble against basic or new players because theyre unpredictable. When you become an a expert there tends to be a standard way of doing things where as new person has no logic when they play. I tend to overthink things and make fundamental mistakes that a new player wouldnt make.

I have been doing things too quickly and "overmarking"....it REALLY annoys me....I go to tackle the ball receiver before he recieves the ball....I yurbo up and am on him before the ball arrives....I am doing the smoother tackle....the smoother tackle does not activate unless they have the ball....therefore I slide right off him...he then catches the ball and I have already gone past....TRY!
I know I should learn how to tackle WITHOUT sprinting up on the player before they have the ball but it is like I am over excited or something. Funny thing is my mate told me to slow down when I approached the ball carrier TWO years ago but I still don't do it!

That "tackle the player before he receives the ball" used to work wonders on 06 because you didn't get penalised lol

Yeah I know.....but we play fair and avoid it. Though lately I have in desperation just gone for the early tackle......yeah bad me:(

Well my friend and I have been playing some exciting games lately and I have been rekindling my form of old.

Anyway as a result of the fun I have been having I think I am gonna have a go at asking my Dad if he can pay for my ticket to Invercargill for this tournament.

The worse he can say is no....he is too old to beat me up.

My apologies to all - I am unable to make the journey down this weekend for the Comp.

Yes I too cannot make it. Have had some financial issues this second half of the year....sorry.
