Transfers rumours

Not surprised he demands a decent wage and we have Conan, VdF, Ruddock and Leavy among others to look after.
Yes but suprised there wasn't even an offer just basically "you're surplus to requirements". I just though he was held higher regard up in D4

I'll miss him, he's one of my favourite players!

The option is to offer an 18 cap international who was probably expecting this contract to be a central one when he last signed a squad player's contract and not allow Ulster to outbid or let him stay in the country by earning a decent wage in Belfast. I imagine Nucifora had a role in it, because if Leinster offered him a contract it'd be exile.

But as report said Ulster were only fully alerted once he was told He wasn't being kept on. He had no chance of a Central deal and knew that if giys in front of him are struggling to get one. As I said just of you rated a guy and he probably wanted to stay why not even chat it through with him but instead turf him to a rival. Yes it will suit Ireland but I wonder more too is it now all the lobbying by 3 other provinces regards wages and budgets that Leinster are being tightened slightly. And that' not a provincial dig just more I wonder is that a link to possible reform on CC deals

I wasn't suggesting he should get a CC.

I'd say he was talked through it "Jordi, our option was offer you a reduced deal that you'd refuse and stop Ulster who may be interested from offering more or let them offer you what they want." Ster did what's best for Jordi financially.

As I said I'm just wondering like as I say for everyone excluding Leinster it makes sense and Gibbes rates him highly.
Just more along lines of is this part of the reforming of how budgets are going to be dealt with.
And for Jordi it a low risk. Of he doesn't perform he will still save face as well he not exactly going to a super pack. If it goes well he will be seen as the innovative part of resurrecting Ulster.

He is looking at going coaching and we have tried sign him straight up but he wants to do ROG route before returning so may be some truth. He loves Tigers from the days of Johnson and Co so may be true

Aye, I'm sure he's wise enough to know its better to start on the bottom rung of the ladder and learn your trade in the smaller leagues out of the limelight than try to go straight to the top.

Leicester is a good fit.

;)

Leicester to sign an actually rated top class Irish player......... as a coach.

Lucas Noguera Paz confirmed to Bath, arriving in a week or two; and contracted until the end of next season.
Nathan Charles put on a Bath contract for the rest of this season; James Wilson* extending to the end of this season.

*That's James Wilson, the big blondish lump of Kiwi utility back; not Jack Wilson, the big blondish lump of Kiwi utility back.

Oh yes; news/rumours on Dave Attwood - it looks like his knee injury will be keeping him out for the entire season, when his contract will have run out. He's supposed to be expecting his next contract to be his last; and is wanting to maximise £££, and talking about a move across the Channel. I'm really not sure he'll get such a decent contract if it's been over a year since his last game of rugby; I'm also not sure that he'll be able to play any more games of rugby regardless of contract if his injury is as bad as its being made out to be.

George North to Dragons. I personally wouldn't play him infront of Amos or Hewitt, so it seems a strange one to me.

Simple, move Amos to fullback and play Hewitt and North out wide. Potentially great back 3 there with great balance. Or they could try playing North at 13.

Dragons will play at least 31 games between the Pro14, Europe and Anglo-Welsh Cup next year. They'll need to rotate their squad. Injuries and Welsh international call ups have to be taken into account too. It's no harm having three quality options and all would see a lot of game time. Competition for places should spur them on too.

Jackman was on a few weeks ago about that too. And said he sees him as an ideal man for strike running plays from 13

Lots of Wasps rumours have been swirling around for a while now.

Guy Thompson very strongly rumoured to Tigers, some saying it's basically done. That would be a very good signing for them, I'm a big fan of guy. However our depth next season could be, even without Guy and not counting Smashley :

Shields
Carr
J. Willis
T. Willis
Young
Hughes
Jones
Haskell
Rieder

Sure wasps were the ones to give Guy a chance at this level but he's not getting any younger so I understand why he'd move - he'd be more certain of gametime at tigers. The risk for the latter is that he's prone to injury...

Haskell may also be moving on. I gather that he wants to see whether he's in the england picture, and has otherwise been linked to a move to france or bristol.

Josh Bassett is being linked to Northampton. This is the one I really don't get at all. He's not having any trouble holding down a starting place on the wing, is doing well here and has a chance of winning things. Saints might get back to that place but they're not there right now. Also from Saints' perspective, Bassett is a good club winger but nothing more. Strange they seem to be chasing him in particular.

The big issue is Cipriani considering lucrative deals in france. Seems he's finally given up on an england call. Cipriani is totally essential to the way we play and would be a mega loss. Rumours of Quade Cooper as a replacement.

Saints are happy to spend a lot of money on a winger, especially when it means they can avoid spending money on more essential parts of their team (pack).

CJ Stander to Montpellier on papers BUT can say now it's from a D4 journalist who doesn't have best relationship with Munster and well just throwing random rumour out there.
Paper has never refused ink

If you want to throw money at a winger, why Bassett? He's a good player, not someone you go out of the way and splash the cash to buy. His main benefit is that he'll never go away on international duty, is that enough?
