Transfers rumours

Not really...

I find it hard to believe Bath seriously thought the RFU would stump up. Also kind of amazed at Armitage's nerve at trying it.

Not since the EPS agreement - where the clubs are handsomely rewarded for player access.

I believe they may have contributed to Jason Robinson and Andy Farrell back in the day - but that was under very different leadership, and as I say, before the EPS.

I'm not quite sure why Bruce seems to think the RFU are at all likely to contribute to any deal.

I means he'd on the inside but it does seem odd...

Armitage has been named in Toulons ERC squad for the weekend. So I guess Bath need to get him before tomorrow night if they want him.

It's a weird one - if we sign him, then, great... I suppose? Can't complain - he's the best quality injury cover we could hope for.
But it's all very murky - if we don't get him then there isn't any of the baggage that comes with him.

Yeah exactly. It's just an odd signing. You don't *need* to break the bank to sign a big name player and once everyone else is fit again you're going too many big names competing for two few spaces. Equally the international question is going to be distracting.

That being said, a Lowe, Burgess, Armitage back row would make most opposition fans wet themselves in fear.

I could be way off on this - and it is speculation on my part, but....

Dan Lydiate --> Bath

Louw... Louw...

Theoretically, maybe a year from now it would. With the right tight five.

Yea I could see it making sense as injury cover right now but I don't think it would be a good long term move.

Ospreys seems to be the strongest rumoured destination for Lydiate.

Roberts and Phillips would most likely go to the Blues if anywhere. Id take Phillips at the O's but Roberts is a waste of time at club level these days.

Tialata to return to Bayonne? Rumour is he is very unhappy there and spent lot of time with ex mates at recent AB home game v ST......
