Transfers rumours

Just posted on Rugbyrame that Jackie Lorenzetti (President Racing) has denied all knowledge of tranfer rumours for Roberts and Lydiate, he also says that no one had been in contact with the club, but he is possibly also trying to get his own little media hype on the bandwagon, as he denied all knowledge of the Sex Ton affair but it went ahead even though he knew nothing ( of course you are only the President Jackie)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, their welsh contingent has been useless, so they'd be better off letting them go. I'd take Lydiate and Charteris back at NGD, but Roberts and Phillips would be a waste. Jamie cares more about the lifestyle and his medical career at this point it seems.

Roberts and Phillips both only bother to turn up for internationals and I think the latter may be past it there as well. Considering the wages they would be asking for and the amount of games they would miss, both would be terrible value for any domestic side.

Sadly true, it seems. Still both very solid players in the Welsh camp though and for that reason alone it may be good to have them back playing regional rugby on a more regular basis.

And to be fair to Phillips - when he has a good game for Wales he really is exceptional. Only got to look at the Wales/England 2013 game and his RWC11 performances to see his passion and potential.

Both players are facing ever-growing competition, though. Phillips will struggle to see off Rhys Webb and Roberts has got to be under pressure from Scott Williams and Cory Allen. Really I'm surprised they headed off to France when they did - would have made much more sense to stay in Wales for the last few years and then head off after RWC2015. But hey it's their lives at the end of the day and I remain big fans of both either way and would love the chance to see them play regionally again.

RE Pohe it's not a real rumour just the fact that he has lost his place in the A League team to young Charlie Thacker(Harry's young brother) and according to those who have watched the games rightly so.

If he isn't careful Catchpole and Thacker will overtake him.

If he isn't in the LV cup team I reckon he will leave.

If he isn't in the LV cup team it's probably because he's not currently good enough ....

"There's another player we're looking at. Everyone knows him and he's been in the Premiership a while. It's not that easy when players are at other clubs."

Bath will be signing someone to cover the back row - at the moment we have 2 fit back rowers in the senior squad.
That quote is too ambiguous to narrow it down to anyone in particular - I haven't got a clue who it could be.

Struggling to think of someone not getting game time, that's been around a while, that would be of the level Bath would want.

Kai Horstmann? If Tom Johnson is back soon(?) then he'd see his game time limited.

Jebb Sinclaire? He's covering 2nd row for Irish at the moment, but they've recently signed a new lock - couldn't see it, though, to be honest.

Andy Saull? Not sure of his injury status, but he's not part of Falcons first choice 23, with their captain being an openside and Furno on the bench.

Saull was one guy I thought of but I'm not sure. I think we're looking more at a 6 or 8.

Sisi and Mercer are our only fit seniors at the moment.

Yeah, I did think it'd be more of a hard hitter you'd be looking for, with Fearns/Houston AWOL.
Fa'osiliva injured?

Backrow of
6. Mercer
7. Saull
8. Sisi

Isn't terrible - certainly a lot of talent there, but compared to one of Fearns, Louw, Houston...

I think Fa'osiliva is injured. It could just be a dead leg, but he went off vs Wasps.

We may end up playing Hooper at 6 in the meantime.

Jack Lam from down the road maybe? If craig could make a great offer for a short term injury loan thing.

Outside that maybe brussow at a Japanese club ATM but is with the barbarians squad so would be around.

Hard to think of more who are of a decent standard.

We have a young Georgian flanker on trial who is a tackling machine despite his size.

So bath expected the RFU to fund part of the Armitage deal Craig is so annoying cant believe he thought the RFU would part fund a deal, there would have been a huge backlash if that happened.

Surely there is a history of the RFU doing that is there not?
