Transfers rumours

Can't see how we would be able to afford him. We're pretty much on it even after Borthwick and Stevens left. Next year it also looks like we are getting Launchbury.

Next year, there's a £500k salary cap increase and a second marquee player added

Then I guess it's a possibility, but why would we want him ? Saracens in recent years haven't tried to get lots of big superstar names. Also he will be 33? Never really put effort into club rugby and I doubt he will start on a muddy day up at Sale on a friday night.

Nonu to the NH is pointless, he'd be better off earning his crust in japan, he'll be 34 when the World Cup finishes, why would anyone want him up here (apart from Toloun)?

Is this based on anything?

My french is a bit rusty so i'll ask you. Does it say that Toulon and Grenoble have also contacted him ? Why would he choose to go to anyone else other than Toulon ?

Guaranteed game time?
If the money isn't that different then he might want to go somewhere where he's going to be starting rather than deputising to Fatstareaud.

I've just gone on the assumption that because Gits, Mitchell and AAC are mates he'll end up at Toulon. Also Toulon aren't as over stocked at centre compared to other position in their squad so it makes a little sense. If they want him they'll let somebody else go for him if needs be I reckon.

I don't think that he will deputise. AAC can play 13,14,15 and if the Halfpenny deal goes to **** then he might be playing fullback, if not then he will always be in contention on the wing.

That's true enough - Toulon do still have stupid depth there even if Halfpenny leaves. Back three to be chosen from Habana, Mitchell, Smith, Wulf, Armitage, Tuisova, centres from Basta, Giteau/Hernandez, Mermoz, Roux.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if he went to Toulon, as above he has friends there and they'll be splashing the most cash - I was just trying to think of a reason he wouldn't.

Samu Manoa --> Toulon

Either he's getting a pay rise or he's moving to the SOF, I'd imagine.
Depends what sort of offer he recieves - if it's silly money I reckon he'll be off.
I think that he's probably reasonably loyal to Saints though, so as long as they can up the ante on his current deal I could see him staying.

Guess it depends on what saints have in the pipe line to bring in.

Could see Toulon being interested though as USA don't play many games a year.

Also Dusautoir confirms talks to AP teams. still think Leicester is a possibility although I doubt as a marquee player.

Well it seems your french is not so rusty !
It defenetly says that AAC is in contact with Grenoble and Toulon, but UBB (Bordeaux) could get him. How anoying, I'd prefer him comming down to the Alps ! He's amazing and I'd really like to see him with Ratini and Gio Aplon !

Toulon wants another Montypellier 9, an int'l one this time. Jonathan Pélissié. I'm guessing to replace an aging Claassens next year. We'll see if MP looks to extend his contract.
