Transfers 2014/15

it was just a rumor a day ago, read a bit of the article. So it's done ?!...yeah apparently...huh. Cool ! Could you imagine if he gets to a high level again and plays for France in the next RWC ? hehe...dreaming of course, but he was awesome in that last final in NZ...

I am not ruling anything out BUT he has not done much for BO since the RWC and guess he is a big game player really and does not do the run of the mill, bottom of the league games too well.......maybe a move to ST would give him the challenge to spark a revival but do not really see it and will be surprised if gets more than a few games there should it actually happen.

More London Welsh signings:

Taione Vea
Ricky Reeves
Shane Cahill
Jack Gilding
Nathan Taylor
Jimmy Litchfield

I don't think any clubs will be quaking in their boots.

oh dear lord...Ricky Reeves and Taione Vea both let go by Wasps....depth is a good thing to have but those guys are unlikely to keep Welsh afloat next season.

A half dozen who?'s

On top of their already anonymous players.

The past few seasons have shown that the team coming up's fortunes are quite unpredictable... but I have a feeling their team is simply going to be outclassed by pretty much every other team.

Newcastle are on a 16-game losing streak in the Premiership though (3 wins in the first 6 rounds, none since). They've not exactly signed world beaters either. I still think Welsh will go down, but I think there'll be a big gap between 10th and Falcons, and a much smaller gap between Falcons and Welsh.

That's the point though - Newcastle were LW and were totally dominant in the Championship with what seems like a better squad that LW, and they've now actually made some decent signings (Tuilagis, for example).
LW will also be shorn of a few of their vital players, because they were on load from Premiership sides.

Andy Powell, Rugby League -> Newport Gwent Dragons.
Well... Toby will be away November, January-March so if we are paying Mongo a high five and packet of crisps, I'd say not bad.

Imanol - He has now confirmed on Twitter that he has signed with ST for one year................... at a reported salary of some 300,000 euro!!!

We have signed another prop Chris King for 1year looks like 2nd replacement for David Attoud incase of injury becomes from NZ but know nothing about him 33 34yrs.

Hes not a bad player, nothing outstanding but nothing special.

He's a pretty good pick-up in my opinion. He is getting a bit older, but I'm disappointed to see him leave the Highlanders (as he is still our 1st choice TH). He's one of the most capped Super Rugby props ever (130+ caps), and still does an excellent job at Super Rugby level. He can play on either side of the scrum equally well, and is reasonable scrummager. He is far from destructive, but more often than not holds his own at scrum time. He isn't a great ball carrier, but his work-rate and defense are his standout attributes. You can expect him to make 10+ tackles per game, hit a huge number of breakdowns, and not concede too many penalties. I'm not sure whether he will be a starter at Montpellier, but at the very least he will be a very valuable squad player.

So after we lose Joel Hodgson to Saints last week, LH prop Grant Shiells is now confirmed to Bath.
