I was at the game...i left so dissapointed; i felt like running on and go score a try myself...bladdy hell that was a poor performance. The Sharks are a sh*t load better than what we saw on Saturday...i am sure they will bounce back with a big win over The Lions....THEY HAVE TO!!

Don't you guys think it would be typical for this Sharks team to actually go out and lose this match?

This weeks team selection will be the most interesting for me this season, changes need to be made imo...

Sharks wont loose this match their is to much at stake although the Lions will come out firing they will lack the experience to achievea win.
Sharks 26 - Lions 20

I have been killed mentally the last few weeks; but i will be seriously surprised if we don't beat lions this weekend...the guys sound very motivated to get back where they belong...cos this ain't right; we have too many good players not to do well this weekend.

News: 80% sure Skeate will be in the 22 this weekend and that Hargreaves will miss out. So my peeps tell me. not losing much or anything at all if this is the case.

Hargreaves out for 2-3 weeks with hairline fracture to his AC Joint. Skeate will come into the 22 and Mostert is expected to start at 5 in Hargeaves' place.

It's about time. He got injured at home aganst the Lions last year so saturday's match is perfect to return to the starting XV!

Can we expect Deysel this week?

He can play if we really needed him; but they want to make sure he is more than 100% before he plays Superugby, again. He is playing for Sharks XV again this weekend and will then hopefully come into the selection frame against Hurricanes, after the Bye week.

You have a fairly decent memory I must say

By ane chance can you remember who he got injured against in the CC, I'm thinking one of the Lions or WP
Oh, and what was he injured with in the S14 last year?

Come one man! I am not Rain Man here. I just remembered this haha.

Team for Lions game-

1. John Smit (C)
2. Bismarck du Plessis
3. Eugene van Staden
4. Steven Sykes
5. Gerhard Mostert
6. Keegan Daniel
7. Willem Alberts
8. Ryan Kankowski
9. Charl McLeod
10. Jacques-Louis Potgieter
11. JP Pietersen
12. Meyer Bosman
13. Stefan Terblanche
14. Odwa Ndungane
15. Louis Ludik
Replacements
16. Tendai Mtawarira
17. Jannie Du Plessis
18. Ross Skeate
19. Jacques Botes
20. Conrad Hoffmann
21. Adrian Jacobs
22. Lwazi Mvovo

That is a great looking line-up. Sharks should win this one but I don't think they're going to have ita ll their own way.

When will Lambie be back? Sharks have really missed him. After the bye I expect the Sharks will be making a strong run to the finish line; 3 of your 5 toughest games and the traveling done and your still in pretty good shape.

Thanks for the confidence booster.
Ran into Lambie last week...his finger is just strapped up, he will be back next game (Canes) with Jean Deysel. Pat seems pretty relaxed, but i know inside he is really keen to get back onto the field. Congrats on Stormers win last week...you did run into a very flat and "energyless" Sharks team though; but a win is a win as they say.

Okay. If I could pick 15 to start, it would look like this:

1. Tendai Mtawarira
2. Bismarck du Plessis
3. Eugene van Staden
4. Steven Sykes
5. Gerhard Mostert
6. Keegan Daniel
7. Jacques Botes
8. Ryan Kankowski
9. Conrad Hoffmann
10.Meyer Bosman
11.JP Pietersen
12.Jacques-Louis Potgieter
13.Stefan Terblanche
14.Odwa Ndungane
15.Louis Ludik

I would give Alberts some rest and use him in the second half as an impact player. Also I'd prefer Hoffmann to start. He has shown he can do it and he is less ignorant than McLeod who needs to learn what decisions to make

LOL, np.

Yeah, I thought the Sharks might not be at 100% wih the amount of traveling they had to do before the game against us. Still, Stormers also have a way of making opposition look more average than they are.

Like you said, after the bye you guys should be rested and bolstered with 2 great players coming back. You should win all your further games at home and a couple against the other SA teams still so I expect you'll be in the top 6 when it comes to the end of the rounds fixtures. Still, gotta beat the Lions first this week and not think too far ahead which I'm sure they'll do.

Who'll make up the backrow though? 5 great options but only place for 3 on the field. Personally, and depending on the opposition/conditions of course, I'd be vrey tempted to drop Kanko and have; Botes/Deysel/Alberts as my backrow of choice with Daniels on the bench for that last 30 minutes when his athletecism might count for more.

When all 5 were fit last year, plum used a 5-2 split bench. He rotated Alberts and Deysel at 7; keegan and Botes at 6 every two games or so. But i would like to see Deysel at 7 and Alberts at 8. Like you said Botes at 6 will help keep the balance in the backrow with Alberts and Deysel.
My loose trio would be 6-Botes 7.Deysel and 8. Alberts with Alberts going to 7 and Deysel going off, Kanko go 8 last 30 min. This is if it is dry weather and a hard pitch. If it is wet i would not be tempted to bring kanko or keegan on...they don't work well in the wet and that has been shown a number of times. Really need Botes at 6 again...he is so fast to the breakdown and secures good ball for us; keegan is always standing at 12 to have a run, rather than clearing out.

When everyone is fit this is how my team would look-

1.Beast
2.Bissie
3.Jannie
4.Sykes
5.Mostert
6.Botes (C)
7.Deysel
8.Alberts
9.Mcloed
10.lambie
11.Mvovo
12.Bosman (VC)
13.Jacobs
14.JPP
15.Ndungane

16.Smit
17.Van Staden
18.Skeate
19.Kankowski
20.Keegan
21.Hoffman
22.JLP

Hargreaves, stef and Ludik miss out in my team.

My picks for the Sharks would be 100% similar for teh starting XV, I'd just prefer to bring Ludik in onto the bench and say sorry to Kankowski. Oh, and I prefer Hargreaves to Skeate.
