I was responding to stormer2010 who prefers Hargreaves over Skeate ;)

Just thought i'd add that this will be Stefan Terblanche's 200th game for the Sharks, and 400th game in his career

I ssay well done to the man, maybe he'll go straight from the field to the pension office one day?

Really great what he has done for The Sharks...difficult to know when he should call it a day; gonna be a tough dicision which he should make in consultation with Plum...if he still adds value then he should keep playing; but he should also take into consideration if he is hindering the development of Future Shark Centres. When P.Jordaan Turns 20 years old Stef should call it. Also younger Joubert will be available and Ndungane can cover 15, which i think will be his best position when he gets too slow to make an impact on the wing. So we won't have a huge gap in our squad, we will still have the mix of talented youngsters and Experience to fill the gap. My Guess would be he can and should only go till around 37 years old...what u guys think?

Terblanche has been a top professional ever since he arrived in Durban. He's not as energetic as he was a couple of years ago but who can blame him? He had his moment of glory last October when he won the Currie Cup as a captain. Some said he should have retired back then but to me he is still good enough to play at this stage. It does worry me a bit to see the lack of depth for the centre positions

We Have 3 young centres involved with the SA U/20 team. Heimar Williams, Piet Lindeque and Rugby Freak Paul Jordaan...so in 2 years time they should be ready to come in. Till then we have Bosman,Jacobs,Joubert and Terblanche...all have Played Springboks and 3 of them more than 20 caps. We have the experience...hopefully Joubert shows a bit more flair and pace than Stef is currently showing. Wish The French ligue ended today. Would love to have Joubert available now.

That might be true but we have to wait and see how the youngsters will do. I still hope that Sarel Pretorius will move to Durban to come and play for us.

I will bet P.Jordaan could come in this Saturday for Sharks and make an impact; he is only 18, everyone who knows anything about SA young talent and Sharks Academy knows that he is a future Star. Lindeque and Williams...time will tell. Pretorius...won't happen, no kicking game and he is very similar to Mcloed and Hoffman in the way he plays...i would be surprised if that happens and in my opinion we don't need him, Mcloed has just lost his way a bit last few games; but he is a much more complete scrummie. Why do you think Pretorius can't fully cement a starting berth for Cheetahs? Can't play in all conditions cause of his kicking, and he is inconsistent.

Not meant to be offensive towards your knowledge of youngsters; i understand how difficult it is being in Holland...rather just to let you know that we have a couple of very capable youngsters coming through. Check link if you want http://www.sharksworld.co.za/2011/03/29/future-sharks-update/ ...i have written a couple of articles on our youngsters coming through. Geniet jou dag, Tjom.

An Older article, but more details...does not include all the current top youngsters we looking at taking the step up. - http://www.sharksworld.co.za/2011/01/25/closer-look-at-the-squad/

I know you don't mean it that way. I love to read stuff about the Sharks XV. I can't see matches so I have to rely on articles to determine the potential.

Understand no worries...Deysel is captain for Sharks XV this weekend, hopefully he is our answer for Captain when Stef and Smit call it a day. There is a delayed version of Sharks XV this weekend; but don't know if you will be able to get it over there.
Will watch the game and especially look at how Deysel does, i am sure he will dominate.

So, decent five point win; bye week this week; Lambie and Deysel to play against the Hurricanes. We made it through our tour and are back in the playoffs.

Deysel had a goodish game against the Leopards in the Vodacom Cup game yesterday, went off the boil later in the match though, but I suppose that is to be expected after such long consecutive lay-offs

What did you guys think of Smit's performance? I thought he was involved in play quite a bit, didn't make a lot of ground when carrying, but at least he got into a position to receive the ball this game, with regards to scrums, well I sit in the heavens so couldn't really see how he faired

And at least the sharks won this weekend making it 1 out of 5 for SA teams. Congrats

Hmmm, our next 3 fixtures kyk soos dis...

Hurricanes at home
Stormers away
Brumbies at home

and then we have a bye

Whats your guys opinions on this line-up? I think we should be looking at an absolute bear minimum of 8 points from those games, but we could easily get 10 points, with a BP against one of the Brumbies/ Hurricanes and a losing BP against the Stormers.

That would leave us 43 points or so heading into the clash after the second break, which is against the Bulls at home, followed by the Waratahs and 3 consecutive away fixtures in the final rounds of the group stages, against the Cheetahs, Lions and lastly the Bulls, which is the second to last game of the group stages, so could very well end up deciding if a second team advances from the SA conference

I guess this is the half-way point of the season, so we are not that badly placed in our own conference considering we have already had our tour

I think the Sharks are very well placed at the moment.
Stormers still have to tour but have one win in hand and have to front the Crusaders, even at home it must be a scary prospect
Bulle het klaar uit die bus gebliksem ;) translated =- Bulls has already fallen out of the bus and had their asses handed to them or something similar

Between Stormers and Sharks for the No1 spot in ZA section unless the Bulls finds their temper, it apparently is lost

John Smit is officially the shifting spanner of SA Rugby nowdays. Not convinced at all, in any regard.
Looking forward to Deysel coming back. Imagine him and Alberts working in tandem
I'd like to see one of them move to 8 in a tight game. 6 Daniel, 7 Alberts, 8 Deysel. I think Deysel would handle the 8th man role brilliantly.

Adi Jacobs has been looking really determined in his come back, good to see. We looked better when he came on, much to Jer1cho's disgust i'm sure! But there's still something off in our centres... They just don't create space. I think JL Potgieter is compounding that though. He is very much a stopgap till Lambie comes back.
We seem to lack any penetration there. Bosman's distribution is looking really handy though.

BTW great to see so many Sharks fans on here!

Canes and Brumbies should be wins...especially with Deysel and Lambie boost. Stormers? Depends which team arrives on the day...But, i think we will make up for our loss to them in Durbs. Our squad will be well rested and will be coming into the game with Everyone getting into the grove after a victory over the Canes.
Deysel still needs a Couple of weeks before he can be considered for a start...not match fit yet; but he can have a power session last 30 min against canes off the bench.

@Steve-o We should have more penetration with Deysel back...Alberts won't have to do all the ball carrying and Hopefully Jacobs gets a go at 13...he helps with the penetration issue. Had a good game against Lions. We need to Give P.Jordaan a run in CC...he can be the answer even at his tender age of 19. We will see more of him in the U/20 world cup later this year.

For Those who still don't know who Jordaan is, search his name on www.sharksworld.co.za. Paul Jordaan, p.jordaan or Jordaan.
