June Internationals - South Africa vs. Samoa (22/06/2013)

The return of the best kicker is crucial for this game. Underdogs can't afford to waste points missing too many kicks, especially routine ones. They need a good performance from So'oialo and a good performance from referee John Lacey as well. Surprised Logovi'i Mulipola isn't starting ahead of Taulafo.

Springboks look beatable this past year, but under Meyer have an uncanny knack of playing crap but still winning, such as the England games last year, the November tour and and Scotland last week.

As has been mentioned though, the fact at altitude will add 10 metres range to the kickers, and will tire out players not used to it. More likely to benefit South Africa than Samoa. But it's hard to know the fitness levels of how the players will be effected and will be prepared for it.

I think a bad performance from Lacey (missing infringements) would be more beneficial to Samoa as SA will probably be the more disciplined and hopefully accurate team IMO.

Manuia le taaloga boys!

Get up the Manu!
Good to see the strongest team possible available for this one.

Really looking forward to this game and great to to see the enthusiasm of the Samoan rugby supporters.
I started to dislike Samoa when they got to play the man instead of the ball (when facing tougher opposition) and the twitter comments of that player at the last world cup.
Remember there is a great history between South Africa and Manu Samoa, on and off the field.

If the can play an honest game, hard and fast aka Manu style they rightly deserve all of the recent credit and great to see them challenging the 6 nations team in terms of world rankings, may they rise even further.

Now if the Boks can just play the basics better while building their young team, realism will be put back in context and Samoa will realise their are on the up, but not their yet
Good luck and may this be an entertaining rugby match tomorrow

If the game is refereed well, probably. But if they realise that the referee is missing or ignoring infringements, they will surely exploit that. I hope that won't be necessary, though!

Lets all hope the ref has very little to do with the end result. I have moved on from RWC 2011 by the way :D

Nah, we havn't shown any inclination to adapt to a 'loose' ref. Our great failing; naiviety.

Disappointing. Well we got taught a lesson and knocked back into tier 2 lol. Proud of our guys, were definitely good but we need to be very good to match it with a very good side in the Bokke.

Malo le taumafai Manu

We came up against a fired up SA team tonight. We played some good rugby but in patches. Discipline was disappointing tonight...

Well played SA

Go The Manu

Well the bullies just got Rugby-bullied off the park! Well done Bokke. Samoa should realise they play better rugby than dirty tactics, especially with the new foul-play TMO calls.

Real shame this result. Samoa are a very pleasing side on the eye when they get flowing, but with that red card it really knocked the belief out of them.

On a side note the South African commentator on Sky sports(Hugh Bladen I think his name is) is an utter disgrace....by far the most bias commentator I've had the misfortune of having to listen to over the last few weeks :( booooo

oh God, THANK YOU !! I looked him up, so that's the fukking RETARD who calls the plays for SA each time ! Very biased yes, but above all retarded-sounding.

Hahaha. Old Hughie. A legend commentator! Yes he's biased at times, but he keeps the game more exciting, he's not a boring commentator, and if you don't like him, mute the tv, or switch to other commentary, if you have that option. But he's part of the SA rugby fraternity. And we have learned to accept him with his faults. Especially saying the wrong names of guys on the field.

He was hardly that annoying in this match, I was more annoyed with the Samoans playing dirty and more the man than the ball. They are such a potent unit with ball in hand, but as usual, when the opposing team become as physical or more as them, then they lose their cool and rather turn the match into a brawl than a game.

I hear Alice Tuilagi got up to some mischief in the game, what he do?
