June International Test: Australia vs. England [3rd Test] (25/06/2016)

The Aussies will have a hard time accusing us English of whinging after how they have acted through this series, nothing but constant accusations of cheating, ref bias and saying we only won because Australia were bad. You would think after the attitude displayed in their media before the tour that they might show some humility but nope

I don't think I've ever seen fans as bad as the Oz ones this series. Always booing Faz when he's taking kicks or when the ref makes a decision in England's direction. It's frankly embarrassing and paints a very bad light on Oz rugby, which is a shame because most Aussies on this forum seem alright.

Haha not a chance of getting humility from the Aussies mate, the ultimate poor sports on the planet. You only have to give their cricket side a quick glance to know that.

Well they now have a paper that says "well done England, now another continent hates you." seriously wtf is wrong with them? Response to losing isn't too say well done bit instead to girl insults and accusations...

Congrats England! The best team has won the series. Eddie Jones is the man

You are the #2 team in the World ATM, no doubts about it but the ABs play another sport

I think that's just Aussie humour really; especially in light of Brexit. To be fair I thought it was quite funny. We're never gonna please the Aussie media or diehard Wallbies fans, it's ingrained in them to hate losing to the "Poms", that it's reflected in their their humour and that it's acceptable to hate the English when it comes to sport. It's just their way of dealing with not just losing to the enemy, but also losing 3-0.

Agreed, we played well and have taken the next under Eddie, but still need to keep improving to displace the All Blacks. They were so ruthless and efficient against Wales for 50-60mins.

Player Evaluations:
Luke Cowan-Dickie: Only got about 15 minutes of rugby, but highlighted why he can't be an international hooker yet. If he can sort out his line-out throwing, he could fit into this England side well in a couple of years.
Jamie George: 2 tries scored off of his boot in the last 2 tests, 1 of which was his own. I feel comfortable knowing we have a real hooker in him for when Hartley is phased out.
Dylan Hartley: Led England to their first series win in Australia. Line-outs spot on as always.
Dan Cole: Scored the first try today, but that doesn't excuse generally woeful carrying. Solid in the scrums and in defence
Ellis Genge: Didn't get any game time, but it's good to see young, talented props in the squad. He's a bit like a Mako that can scrummage.
Paul Hill: Hasn't gotten much game time, but has been solid. Needs to get bigger if he wants to be an international THP.
Matt Mullan: Seemed to struggle in scrums a bit. Didn't get much game time.
Kyle Sinckler: See Hill
Mako Vunipola: Excellent this tour. Stunning work rate from such a massive man and hasn't been too bad in the scrums.
Maro Itoje: Has been a bit quiet since the first test, but none the less has been a rock of the England pack. It's terrifying when you consider he's only 21. Hate to jump on the band wagon, but he's the future England captain. Maybe sooner than expected.
George Kruis: Hasn't made the impact he did in the 6 Nations and in the 2nd test his lineout tactic of always calling it to himself got found out. Was still reliable in open play.
Joe Launchbury: Made good impact from the bench.
Courtney Lawes: I thought Attwood should've had his squad place, but I was very wrong. Physical in defence and made the run that set up the Faz try in test 2.
Jack Clifford: Underwhelming. His defence and inability at the breakdown has been found out.
Teimana Harrison: Only got 30 minutes. Despite getting the hook I thought he did well. I can see him fitting very well into the team in a year or two, as he fills the role of a natural 7, while still being powerful and aggressive enough to fit into the big, physical role that Jones wants.
James Haskell: Never has a player changed my opinion on themselves so much as Haskell did in the 1st 2 tests. Had he not been ruled out of the 3rd test, I'd have given him player of the series.
Chris Robshaw: I thought Ewers should've gone instead of him, but he proved me wrong. MOTM in the 2nd test, he's left his RWC woes behind him.
Billy Vunipola: Quiet in the 1st test, very good in the 2nd and poor in the 3rd (apart from his try, that was beastly). His fitness has been found out, doesn't have the work rate of an international back rower.
Ben Youngs: Suprisingly not that bad. Needs to cut out the crab when passing though, the Aussies exploited that today and other teams will follow suit.
Danny Care: Great impact off the bench.
Owen Farrell: Player of the Series, no doubt. No explanation needed, we all know what he does.
George Ford: Has made a comeback this tour from the horror season he's had. Some quirky decision making but his play amking ability has shone through.
Luther Burrell: Signed his international death warrant in the 1st test. Exploited in defence.
Elliot Daly: The number 8 hasn't gotten much game time but it was good to see him finally get a run out in his real position today.
Jonathan Joseph: Defence has been excellent and hasn't been a slouch in attack either. Bolted on in the 13 shirt.
Henry Slade: No game time but it's good to see him in the squad. Has a good career ahead of him.
Ben Te'o: No game time, and I wouldn't mind not seeing him in an England shirt. Seems odd to bring an uncapped 29 year old into the squad. Hopefully he can change my mind in the future though.
Jack Nowell: Scored a try in the 1st test, had a solid 2nd test and shouldn't have been on the pitch for the 3rd. I won't get into the concussion stuff again, but despite some poor defence, he did make a heroic rip on Folau. People say he's too slow, I think they're wrong, has a great workrate for a winger and has maybe the best kick-chase in World Rugby.
Anthony Watson: Poor in the 1st 2 tests, defensively and in attack. Made up for it today with that chip to set up Brown's try. Has a great England future ahead, whether that's at wing or FB is yet to be decided.
Marland Yarde: Only got to play in the 1st test. Scored himself a try but got bullied in defence and never really stood out in attack. Roko should've been in instead.
Mike Brown: His try today doesn't take away from what has a been a very poor series. I can't see him having too many more games in an England shirt.
Alex Goode: No game time. If he didn't get in the side this time with the way Brown was playing, he never will. A shame for the Premiership Player of the Season.

Hang on, I never said I don't like/rate Ford. I think he's the best play maker in the NH at the moment, and is miles ahead of Slade and Cips at this point in time. I just think that it's fair to say that Ford couldn't have hit a lot of the kicks that Faz has this series, which is why we need both.

To be fair you said if you pick Ford without Farrell you have "no kicker". That's going a lot further than saying he's not as good as Farrell (which I agree with).

I agree with Which Tyler, he's an international standard goalkicker who isn't as good as Farrell (at his best). He had one shocker of a game, in probably the least meaningful international ever played, it isn't enough to write him off for.

Sorry, no kicker was an exaggeration, however he doesn't crumble under pressure when kicking from the tee and isn't an international standard kicker. You say the Wales game was a 1 off, but it was probably the worst kicking display of an international 10 of all time, so that definitely counts for something. There's nothing to say it wouldn't happen again, as he hasn't kicked since then. I truly believe that had we not had Faz kicking this series, and Ford instead, then we wouldn't have won. After the Wales display, it'll take some time before he can be trusted kicking for goal again.

He's done it once for England, he's kicked well for England many times. Yes, if he and Farrell are both on the pitch Farrell kicks. But Ford's kicking is not so bad that you cannot afford to drop Farrell IF a better option appeared at 12.

To be clear - I'm not saying I'm not happy with Ford-Farrell now and for the short-term. But if, for example, Ben Te'o turns out to be the answer to our prayers at 12 then we don't need Farrell - his goalkicking is not so far ahead of Ford's that it makes up for Ford's playmaking if it's a straight shootout between the two.

I disagree. In this England style of play, having a reliable goal kicker in necessary. If it comes down to Ford or Farrell at 10, it's Faz every time.

Fair enough, you've got a different opinion. I respect that ... even if it's wrong

The Ford/Farrell argument has been done to death in the past, it'll be done to death in the future, so let's not resurrect it today. The sun's shining, England won 3-0 and I'm on the way to the pub, I'm sure you've got better things to do too. Happy Saturday and enjoy savouring the whitewash!

You too mate here's to many more victories like this in the future.

You would think after the attitude displayed in their media before the tour that they might show some humility but nope

Pots/kettles ragerancher. You want to take a long hard look at your own sports media sometime and see it from an outsiders perspective. The British Sports media is without any doubt the - worst - sports media the planet.

We've had time to civilise the forum aussies so they are fine but look at green and gold, qantas fb or their media in general and it's a pathetic attitude.

This is a vulgar cheap-shot.

If I was an Australian, I would find this extremely rude and degrading, and if I was in a bar with you and you came out with this kind of remark, you would find yourself on the floor holding your face.

This sort of remark is bloody typical of the dismissive and disdainful attitude of the British Media towards anything and anyone who is not British. We (Aussies/Kiwis) are all just ignorant colonial savages to you aren't we.

Do you actually believe that was a serious statement?

Jesus christ... we really do have a lot more civilising to do.

I actually think that he just said that they are bad losers.
I think you exaggerate this quite a bit. I am NOT British, BTW ;)
