anthems used in six nations

I've often thought about this; I think Jerusalem would be a good one, though I do think the theme tune to the Archers is a fine replacement. (Fa la la la la la laaa, Fa la la la laaa la), but the suggestion to re-introduce giving the Scots a belt in the mouth could be fun (only kidding; my Mrs is one x).
GSTQ is for GB, Jerusalem for England.

Given that 'God save the Queen' is the National anthem of the united kingdom, therefore, is that of all four nations, could we please have Jerusalem for the England side please. The other nations all use the unofficial anthems of the individual countries. Why can't England have their own? Why are they the only one having to use the anthem which also represents their competitors?

I'd prefer land of hope and glory. Also simple rule, don't boo another teams anthem. Terrible by Wales today.

If we are to use another anthem ever, please not Jerusalem it is awful.

I think Jerusalem is brilliant actually, nothing more rousing than "O Clouds unfooooooooold"

+1 for Jerusalem.

Though I thought the English had quite the voice last night.

'Land of Hope and Glory' is the best anthem for the Poms, it has an uplifting element. Jerusalem is alright, definitely better than God save the Dirge.
Never Boo the opponents National Anthem. If anything sing it softly out of respect. I always sing 'Flower of Scotland' quietly because it's such a fine tune.
I also sing 'Bread of Heaven' because thats another fine tune, but one must never boo the opposition National Anthem, not even that God awful mish mash the Japies mumble out.
It's absolutely not the done thing.

Was very unimpressed with the booing (though happily it was quickly drowned out). No need for it, at any time.

I'm sure England used to use 'Land of Hope and Glory' at the Commonwealth games, but changed to Jerusalem for the last games.

Biggest problem with Jerusalem is, whilst its a great song, I imagine finding 80,000 people who can all sing that high would be a strain.
Land of Hope and Glory can be really great, and inspiring.

Land of hope and glory also a great suggestion. I definitely agree about booing other anthems. Its not right and should never be done. Apart from the durge God save the queen is, its not right having the English guys singing an anthem that also belongs to the other home nations. If England have that, then Wales should have sung it too! That would have been funny, they could have booed it when England sang it and then sung it themselves!

They aren't unofficial anthems by the way, they are the national anthems of the countries, England's is just the same as the UK's one.

It's bizarre that any Welsh person would want to boo the English anthem when that anthem is also their own. I quite like Jerusalem as a song, FWIW.

I'd prefer land of hope and glory. Also simple rule, don't boo another teams anthem. Terrible by Wales today.

I heard the booing as England came out. Did they also boo the anthem. That's bad. Whatever you say about the crowd at Twickenham, you rarely get any booing. Certainly not during the anthem.

LOL GSTQ is Ireland's National Anthem.
Ireland's Call is the unofficial Anthem.
Amhran Na bhFiann is Ireland's Official Anthem.
Booing any Anthem is disgraceful.

They've tried Land of Hope and Glory at the commonwealths for many years.

Nobody knows the bloody lyrics it's a stupid idea.

GSTQ is a tired uninspiring anthem.

Land of hope and glory would be fantastic. And the lyrics are very simple...people just need to learn them.

I love God Save The Queen - wouldn't want to see it change.

I know it's not officially "our" anthem, but considering it's the anthem of the UK, and we're the big Daddy of the UK, it basically is ours.

Nothing wrong with God save the Queen. The players and the crowd belt it out.

Anyway this discussion is pointless, it isn't going to change.
