All Blacks vs Wallabies, August 7th 2010, Fifth Tri Nations Test

Any anyway, HOW DARE YOU insult my intelligence by accusing me of being a member of the NANCY BOYS BRIGADE!!!

IMO, the only "real" rugby players have single digits on their backs.... the lower the number the better!!!

From that outburst, you will realise that your first guess was correct. I was a "Lucy"!!!
I have a 4 or a 5 on my back, but play centre or wing. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

theres always gonna be calls that are wrong even more that are thought to be wrong by one eyed supporters, that doesn't mean you can suggest in the case of the Tri-Nations 2010 that the ref has affected any of the outcomes so far or margins and be taken seriously. I think Robbie Deans has given credibility to such ideas by being just as bad as P'div but inserting "some people might think" in front of his pathetic excuses.

I'd bet pennies to a pound you were one of the loudest *****ers after the previous WC refereeing debacle.

AB's have had the rub of the green this year.

Hope we don't hear you moaning next year.

I defended the All Blacks in the sense that they were unlucky to lose and how the WC isn't a true test of who is best as an unlucky loss like that can so easily happen. I also said they were clearly the best team at the tournament and was vindicated of such in 2008. The AB's have had a few lucky calls but it hasn't affected any of the outcomes, yes unlike 2007 QF

Woodcock Yellow ... Yay or Nay?

If you are being consistent with the rest of the Tri nations it was definitely a yellow card. However, I only think about two players should have been yellow carded in the Tri nations so I think that the penalty was fair. Woodcock didn't intend to hurt the player, IMO.

sorry, i hope you're being sarcastic, but i couldn't disagree more if you aren't. woodcock's effort was intentional and reckless. if i wanted to hurt someone i'd hit them from behind... just like woodcock. (i'd even wear an all blacks jersey for effect)

It wasn't even hard, definitely wasn't trying to hurt him

Ha! i get it, because hes always on the wing

hopefully he doesnt get much game time for the crusaders tbh..

You got it. Its really a shame because he is one of the best athletes in NZ rugby. Hes 6'7 and was around the 120kg mark after he got told to get in the gym and bulk up more, im not sure of his weight at the moment but check out 2:30 in this video

Not only does he show great ball skills and a bit of pace, but look at the size of the guy! If he learns to hit some damn rucks then he could be a great player.
The best thing for NZ rugby would be for Sam Whitelock to move to the Blues and learn how to be the "go to guy" and leader of the forward pack. Then for Ross to stick around at the Saders and learn how to man the **** up first hand from Brad Thorn without the fear of getting dropped again.

ive always thought woodcock was an arrogant prick but i kaplan made the right decision but the citing commissioner should have penalised in some way,
at the end of the day the all blacks have had a edge over the referees but what makes it stand out is how well their using it and thats what good teams do,the team going forward rightly gets the benefit just like the great england team earlier this millennia

If there was a person to spot and arrogant prick, you'd be the man, but how does he come off as arrogant? Having talked to him in real life, he seems like a really humble and down to earth guy. This is the only time I've ever seen him do anything close to foul play.

I agree with nick. I have also met Tony Woodcock (in regards to a sponsor I used to work for) He is a humble, quiet and unassuming guy who will do anything for anyone. You are miles off the mark tree-rat. There is nothing arrogant about him whatsoever.

But what can I say? Perhaps he finally had a gutsful of the Wallabies constantly getting themselves in the way on the All Black side of the ruck.

Not condoning what Woodcock did; he should have been YC and cited.

Thats not the point, he charged into the back of a player who was un-braced for impact. If you've ever been hit by anything without expecting it then it will hurt and you are more likley to get injured. The fact is it was reckless and dangerous play.

On that thought I think he did mean it, the guy is on his knees and trying to get up to retreat to his side, why else would you run into a guy in that position, to harm him.

Sadly I agree. It was very stupid and very uncharacteristic of Woodcock. I'm guessing he was just caught in the action and got a little over zealous. Deserved a yellow card in my opinion, but because it's so unlike Woodcock it won't change my opinion of him. I don't think Woodcock not being reported is any kind of favouritism, I just think that no one deems it bad enough for a match ban. It could have been a yellow on the day, but from Kaplain's point of view, it may not have looked too bad, especially considering we have the benefit of slow motion.

.
I agree about Isaac Ross but he does need to work on hitting the rucks and being more physical. He still potentially has another 7 or so years to be in the AB's and Donnelly has earned his spot with out a doubt. Still, I think if they ignore him, it'll be a real waste of talent. Same Whitelock is going to be a cornerstone of the AB's in 4 or 5 more years. Whitelock and Owen Franks have a very long future.

hes more aloof than quiet, plus hes a bad winner and a bad loser,he talks up his scrummaging as well

Are you for real? Woodcock had every intention to to hurt him.

I go back to Gareth Jones (RIP) incident, similar circumstances ... but the impact of the hit left him for dead. Woodcock got away with it and it has left a bitter taste in my mouth. For such a good player to do something stupid like that is for me unacceptable on the pitch.
