[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 5: Ireland vs. Scotland (19/03/2016)

Well played Gauzeres one of the best ref's in the game. Another good performance and yellow cards at the right time! Only thing he missed was not giving Sexton one for play acting.....

English fans complaining about Ireland getting away with stuff? Self awareness isn't your strong suit is it?

Once again Scotland play poorly, individually and collectively and yet still finish within sight
What is wrong with this squad?

a tough match, well deserved win overall for Ireland.

I have just watched Ireland cheat their way through this game. How was sexton allowed to get away with out a yellow card IDK.
One minute he is sitting up looking for the ref and then falls back on floor holding his head. Hold on are the rules simple......... head injury off you go son. Play acting is a soccer tribute not one for rugby. Personally I think he should be sited.

Refs need to wake up to players that are constantly late coming back onside. Infuriatingly Scotland on the 22 and just pass back and hold on who is there . You guessed a green shirt. Surely this needs to be looked at, as it is offside if you interfere with play yet some refs allow it.

All the same great game Scotland, no shame to lose against cheats and vile tempered players that throw punches constantly.

In all a weak ref again has allowed the bullies to win.

Is it me or are Ireland the most cynical, mardy, whinging team in the world? Always calling for cards always moaning to the ref. Real lack of class

It's no coincidence that the Ireland games are always spikey affairs and it's very frustrating that they always seem to find a way to beat us by hook or by crook. All our other matches were played with generally good sportsmanship between the players, even the defeats to England and Wales who deserved their wins. Frustrating to get two yellows and watch Sexton and his antics. Really impressed with Stander yet again who is a hell of a player.

Be embarrassed for Sexton and your reliance, not your fault admittedly, on the ref to get you over the line.
Nah mate blame Scotland for simply not being good enough. ***** and moan all you want Ireland were worth there win. Was that gamesmanship from Sexton? Yup! I don't condone that **** from Sexton at all, nor do I like him as a person. Was that still at least a penalty? Yup

1. Ireland deserved to win. No excuses and we were well beaten.

2. The Irish team, like their provinces, cheat constantly around the ruck by tackling opponents players without the ball beyond the ruck. We need refs to start pinging this.

3. Completely agree with the Jonny Sexton play acting point. He was well enough to appeal to the ref for the penalty, and then suddenly seemed to get a headache. Hope he's cited.

4. Ref was completely inconsistent. Yellows twice to Scotland for ruck offences. Then after Sextons yellow, they stop us getting the ball from the ruck one yard from the posts, and are penalised with no yellow. All because the ref is afraid to reduce them to 13.

5. Take out of Taylor (I think) on the near touch with a late tackle was a yellow card offence - again.

6. Clear crossing by the Irish three quarters attacking our line in the last ten minutes- totally missed by the ref.

7. Generally, I think weak refs ruin big games with too many yellow cards (no matter which team). Three in this match.

8. Just for the avoidance of doubt to finish - well done Ireland and we need to do better !
