[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 5: Ireland vs. Scotland (19/03/2016)

Yet again we're seeing a huge swing during the sin bin period. This needs to be looked at as they're distorting far too many games.

The punishment isn't fitting the crime.

Hogg is the only lion in your team. I think he will be starting 15 next year. Watson and north on the wings.
on this form yes but I still wouldn't be surprised to see 1/2p or Brown get the starting nod above him.

If Gatland is charge I doubt he has any chance to start.

A different ref and Scotland would have no cards; maybe I'll withdraw that on second viewing, but I'm really not understanding a lot of the ref's decisions so far.

I think he is the reason why the ball is being presented quickly at rucks.....just as the Irish pundit says the same thing!!

Lol,I'll bring this up when the team announced
Considering they can't beat any of the other Lions teams who apart from Hogg would get selected above any of 5 he other teams players in their positions?

Instead of spouting crap how about you answer the question you clearly know was asked. Anyway phones being ****e and as usual I've missed out words for not being able to type as quickly as i think so should read.

Apart from Hogg who would get selected in the Lions above any of the other teams players in their respective positions?

I'd say Nel is the only guy likely to start, Hogg has too many weaknesses, but that is all for another day.

Is that a good thing if he's got the result by disciplining one team for non-existent offences? Because I don't think so. The first one, I didn't see a ruck there to begin with.

Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I saw.

As for Hogg - he saw a gap between two front rowers, stepped and turned on the after-burners. That should be standard full-back play, no? I sometimes get sad at how wowed we get about what should be the basics.

If Hogg's defensive positioning was as strong as his counter-attacking running, sure he'd be in the next Lions team. But there is the issue.

Have to say Peat I tend to agree Hogg's been pretty good the last few weeks but I do wonder how much perception is skewed by good players playing in below average teams.

Brown for example played well last week but his performance is relative to Itoje's

I think it is skewed a little, yeah.

I also think Hogg's a clearly talented player, but he's not the complete package and I think people overlook his lapses in defence because of his attack and overrate him as a result.

And oh dear Scotland. Didn't think they should have kicked the ball away in the first place, but naive defending there.

I did not see it as one sided any more than the fact that the possession was about 80% in favour of Ireland so no wonder penalties were mainly given against Scotland!

I agree about Hogg's try and would refer Hastings to his brother's try in Paris which was real class!!

This game was over from about the 30th minute.......and the last rites are just being read!!
