1. Ireland deserved to win. No excuses and we were well beaten. Agreed.
2. The Irish team, like their provinces, cheat constantly around the ruck by tackling opponents players without the ball beyond the ruck. We need refs to start pinging this.A bit unfair but correct in this game. Ireland were illegally at times blowing well passed the ruck. The Scots were powder puff in allowing it though. For the record the NZ'ers set the standard at this.
3. Completely agree with the Jonny Sexton play acting point. He was well enough to appeal to the ref for the penalty, and then suddenly seemed to get a headache. Hope he's cited. Agreed. I'd like to see players banned for that ****e. Yellow was fully deserved though.
4. Ref was completely inconsistent. Yellows twice to Scotland for ruck offences. Then after Sextons yellow, they stop us getting the ball from the ruck one yard from the posts, and are penalised with no yellow. All because the ref is afraid to reduce them to 13. Thought the ref had a great game. I can turn your point around on you and say the Scots at one stage were lucky they weren't reduced to 12, such were their indiscretions.
5. Take out of Taylor (I think) on the near touch with a late tackle was a yellow card offence - again.???
6. Clear crossing by the Irish three quarters attacking our line in the last ten minutes- totally missed by the ref. Case for it perhaps but it had no bearing.
7. Generally, I think weak refs ruin big games with too many yellow cards (no matter which team). Three in this match. Lot of cynical slowing of the ball. I like the ref penalising that stuff.
8. Just for the avoidance of doubt to finish - well done Ireland and we need to do better!Agreed. No hard luck stories for Scotland. They allowed Ireland bully them for 40. In all honesty they always struggle in the forwards against us. I'm not sure why because we hardly have an imposing pack.
