[2025 Six Nations] Scotland vs Wales - 8/3/25

American football isn't a game. It's a giant commercial that breaks to a game now and then.
It's a giant ATM. And unlike rugby, it's sustainable and growing.

UK must become more like the US and start growing their economy. It's killing people's disposable income, affecting rugby.

Being someone who has worked with Gregor, and am a big fan of the guy, I don't understand who would do any better?!!!
If you want a scotsman you should take a look at Clark Laidlaw coaching the Hurricanes. hasn't been a great start to the season with 1/3 of the squad injured but he's got them playing in a similar way to Scotland now so wouldn't be tearing up the framework

If it goes like nfl, it will die here in the UK. People can't be bothered with it.

Kudos to Scotland on their victory over Wales. It was closer than I expected (35-29) but they got the win. 👏

Henshaw isn't a 13, he's a 12 pushed out.

Ring Rose is over rated.

I like Jones, and Lawrence is a crash ball specialist...

I think Llewellyn, who can play 12, 13 or wing might just sneak in

Bar Jac Morgan, Wales were abysmal in the first half and first 10min. of the second half. Defence was all over the shop, and discipline was poor. Some amateur errors too which really cost us.

Things changed when the benches came on. Perhaps Scotland thought they'd already done enough and switched off, but Wales also upped their game considerably.

It answered some questions for me:

1. Rowlands is finished. Thought it for a while, although a better showing v Ireland had me questioning whether he had a little more to give. Teddy Williams was head and shoulders better off the bench.

2. Dual opensides isn't the answer, especially not when one of them is Reffell! Said it tons of times over the last couple of years, but Reffell may look decent for Leicester when there's more time and leniency at the breakdown, but the current law interpretations doesn't suit him at all. Completely inneffective, and doesn't carry the ball or link play. Wainwright must start at 6 with Morgan moved back to 7. Basham would be a better option on the bench, or Morse.

3. Anscombe isn't the answer at 10. He's too old and sits too deep. His kicking was terrible today as well. Jarrod made a huge impact off the bench, with his ability to hold the ball and pump pass causing the Scottish defense no end of problems. Dan Edwards should be in the 23 too, either starting or on the bench.

4. Ben Thomas improved as the game went, but too many mistakes today. Eddie James has been waiting for an opportunity, maybe England will be it.

5. Murray has his moments in attack, but he's a liability under the high ball, and that fling back inside from a terrible Thomas cross field kick was amateur hour. I'm OK with him on the wing, but not sure he's the answer at fullback.

I'll give Mee a pass, as lots of defenders have been shown up by DvdM, and it was only his second cap and first season as a pro, but he needs to learn from today.

You'd probably need to be a psychologist to figure out that one.

Wal will cling to their comeback, but it's easy to play when you have nothing to lose and the opposition has switched off with the game in the bag. If Wal can use that as a launching pad, then fine but to me they were as poor as ever.

As for Sco, I guess that explains why this group will never be more than a mid table team. Impressive for 50 mins, got the win, but blew the chance to put their foot on Wal's throat and deliver a ruthless statement performance.
