[2015 TRC] New Zealand v Argentina in Christchurch (17/07/2015)

I agree Lizard but if you look at when the ELV laws came into practice, believe it or not we kick more than most. Difference is that we kick for possession whether as box kicks or clearance and when the kick matters.

If there was a rushing defense in our 22 then Barrett wouldn't cut the mustard......Dagg would either kick up field for clearance or kick on the wing with brains.

At the end of the day, we need a tactical punter.

Thing is this is such a small part of the AB's game that saying we need Dagg for that just doesn't add up, when i weigh it up, take Dagg to do 2-3 big kicks and be useful for a few minutes, or take another player like Piutau who can actually be useful the whole game.

Any fullback's bread and butter should be the tactical kick to some level, thing is Dagg just does it longer than others, but that is his only trick, he is just too one dimensional.

HUGE Pumas defense so far

NZ 6 - ARG 3

17 minutes

What a lineout try that was. So well worked.

Naholo's looked great to me. He' just got to be given time to adjust to test match defensive intensity.

Two very dubious breakdowns in the run up.
The penalty for the catch and drive was because an AB player pulled an Argentinian player into the ruck/over the ball as he tried to roll away.
Previous ruck an Argentinian was on the ball for an age but the ref wouldn't blow for holding on.

Most capped side in history. Theres going to be some of that go on when you have this sort of experience.

Great wheels on the break, only problem is that his own team mates couldn't support him !

Lobbe is such a class player

AB's appear to be entering a lot of mauls from the side, they clearly walked that maul around and may be "a little quick" (or offside) in defence!

Always feel there is a lot of points in this for them and Sanchez has at last done something right!!

Good rucking from Argentina, made a couple of turnovers through counter rucks. Creevy is everywhere, playing his heart out

The entire argentine pack in generals been pretty good as they usually are. But yeah Creevy has stood out for sure. If they ever get a backline behind this pack look out.

Thing is they do. Its like Italy, though not to the same level, there are some very talented players its getting them to gel and making the right decisions that the consistently good teams do

Oh dear, let's go high 7 metres out on one of the best centres in the world.. *sigh

But what im saying is they dont do THAT forward pack justice as that forward pack can match any side in the world on their day. You certainly cant say that about the backline.

This is the best I've seen Carter play in a long time

Agreed been a huge critic of his for over a year now. This sort of performance is so overdue its not even funny that said he's only done the basics really.

Mccaw was there like a flash but very poor body position and got blown off real easy.

SBW's value is certainly in his defence. Opposition centers must cringe at having to run at him.

Come on then all you naysayers. Find some obsure reason why that try shouldn't have been allowed.
