[2015 Six Nations] Wales vs Ireland (Round 4)

Ok, so a sensible side given this refereeing would forget about the choke tactic completely, unless it's just such a mis-match that its a fait accompli. But otherwise, you're just making life harder for yourself in rolling away afterwards.

We are still there but need to get tries I feel. Wales started extremely hungry but if we can claw back to level scores I think we will push on but a great contest

After the first 10 minutes I'd have been delighted with this score at ahlf time. I feel we should maybe have got a try though. Expect us to come out firing after the break, it's generally a hallmark of Schmidt coached teams.

Payne's best game of the tournament so far.

We should be getting more out of the scrum.

Worst fears come true. If our aerial game is nullified, do we have the ability to play ball in hand? Doesn't look like it. Very worrying.

We're within 6 points and have grown as the game has gone on. Your constant doom and gloom is getting tiresome.

Oh I think Ireland are still in it and match could either way which is probably why it is exciting!

Choke tackle needs to be changed... If the attacking team is driving forward then the ball goes dead because the defensive team don't move away, the possession should go to to the attacking team - either by penalty or scrum.
Seems daft that the team with the momentum loses the ball because the defensive team kills the ball?

Constant? How so? What I just said isn't untrue. We can't use the ball without knocking it on. We were one man up for 10 minutes and we couldn't reduce the margin. Yes we are 6 points behind but we should be less or even in front. We are playing against ourselves.

But laws are team who bring it in are responsible. If they gamble bringing it in its effectively use it or loose it. And if they can't use it they deserve to loose it. The defense gets its reward. When bodies from both sides collapse all over its hard to blame just defense.

I'd have to agree with BG8. A lot of positives. And given how Welsh started we have great chance from this position. Credit to Welsh who've made it very hard for us.

Because in any given match thread you take the negative point of view, as you are here. Yes most of what you say is true (although we actually did reduce the margin) but it's hardly our 'worst fears come true' either.

Since the first 10 or so we're 9-3 up.

A lot of Irish guys have been poor but it's a day where the tide is against them.

In the other threads I don't look for negatives for the sake of it. Sure I could revel in the positives, which I do unlike what you say, but I also criticise because I want our team to be better.

Our side has been deservedly hyped up until now and marked as favourites so I'm sorry if I expect better execution from us.

Wales looking very pedestrian then. Lots of possession form the forwards, but not much spark out wide at the moment. Perhaps Scott Williams should be given a go?

Yeah I doubt he's trained fully.

It's unlikely all of Scmidt's rules apply to him.

I do wonder about that...I almost wantt to say he's too big a personality for the system but it's clearly not the case based on their record together which is amazing!

Agree that Scott Williams could be a good call, with route 1 not working so well for Roberts
