[2015 Six Nations] Wales vs Ireland (Round 4)

Miracle recovery from Heaslip after three cracked vertebra. Think Barnes wants a game as he is very consistent in protecting the attacking sides ball......

Brave call. We need a return

Toner at back is always bad for us. He's not a 6 jumper and that was costly

Jiffy describes that penalty as consistent but I'm not so sure....sometimes the referee has to just accept that the player can't move and yet isn't interferring, and the ball is still available. I'm not sure a penalty was necessary.

I think he meant he's being consistently ridgid with that rule. I agree with you, sometimes the ball is available to play and he gives advantage, very hard in this area for both teams!

Oh my god those penalties - Barnes has got this all wrong. When the opposition player lies on you to make sure you can't fully role away....and even then, the player isn't interferring with play.....should that be a penalty. Really?
Some very harsh ones there.

Wales winning the aerial battle, but Ireland have it in the Scrum at the moment.

yeah...and don't get me wrong I understand what Barnes is trying to do in terms of the flow of the game, but realistically, the players are not used to such stringent officiating and therefore won't be able to fully adapt - so we're actually going to see a more fragmented game, which is presumably not what Barnes wanted to achieve.

Wow, definately a penalty but the yellow is....interesting. I'll take it though. Phillips for Webb will also be good for us.

I'm ok with that yellow, as both Ire and Wal have been warned. What must happen is if Ireland also slow the ball down one goes their way as well.

yeah...I'm just not sure its sustainable to run a game like that. It's sort of like moving the goalposts a bit because neither team expects it to be quite THAT stringent.

Good composure form Dan Biggar, has mastered that drop goal from that position.

Well played the Welsh.....am quite enjoying this match!

Edit.. Blimey have heard much moaning about the ref but never for enforcing the laws because the players are not used to it!!

We are being beaten all over but if we go in only 6 behind I'd be happy. The worry is we have Felix and not an Earls or Fitzgearld to come in against tiring legs.
