It's actually quite hilarious as an article.
He's pretty much said "I know they shouldn't respect us because we're 0 from 3 but they don't respect us"
Scotland also have some work to do in the PR department. Declaring the intention to win a grandslam and the 2015 World cup in 4 years was interesting..
And they came into this tournament understanbly optimistic but ultimately saying we're looking to win.

And hat's fine, don't get me wrong, it's one approach to take. But for a new and unsettled squad, much better to beaver away under the radio, work up some points on the IRB Rankings, and as Tony says, earn respect the hard way.

Am hearing a number of people saying that Scotland can very well win on Saturday...
I'd almost go as far as to say that long-term, Scotland might be doing us some favours if they do. We have our issues and they shouldn't end up under the rug.

there is nothing good can come from us losing to Scotland

The article is quite interesting to read tbh.

I think that on Hogg's statement, I do feel that way as the RFU did try to kick us and Italy out the six nations at one point i believe and England think they're better then everyone who isn't from England because they're simply 'not English'.

but back onto the game Sean Lamont out doesn't really concern me as Maitland is back. Stuart McInally did play well so a good choice to cover Ross Ford if anything else happens to him.

England were better than everyone who is not English, in Europe, after R1 according to the rankings... Hogg is doing the 'Ronan O'Gara talk smack to give you the incentive to back it up', he'll likely just end up with egg on his face though.

Care to justify that, just a tiny bit?

Wales did the smack talk and it failed. Wales are a better side than Scotland and that was with them at home. It seems to become popular to talk crap about England before playing them, and for the majority of teams they end up looking stupid afterwards. My favourite was a few years back when Australia basically claimed they just had to turn up to win, they then lost convincingly.

So that counts for all English people then?
Well im sure the majority off the people who are in ukip are English but to be honest i shouldn't comment about politics if i dont know much about it

As soon as you have to bring up some vague politics to back up a rugby point, you've kinda lost. It's the same as people who say they boo England and the reason ends up including something from the 1400's.

Well i believe it is an English party called 'ukip' want the foreigners out off the uk.... right ?

Ok where to begin... I feel like I'm about to tell a child where babies come from..

1) All countries have far-right parties operating in them. Yours is one of them. Many countries have bigger ones (National front in France) and some even have ruling far rights.(Hungary I believe)

2) UKIP are, their weakness in Scotland notwithstanding, a UK party rather than an English party. The clue is in the letters UK (IP)

3) 'The political system arguably fails to engage or make lots of people feel properly represented. UKIP are perceptably the worst of all parties in representing the 'real British voter'

4) The English think they are better than everyone else? Even if you were taking UKIP as representative, this statement wouldn't represent UKIPs beliefs very accurately!

5) ....we don't!

Its fine to 'not know very much about politics' but to say that all English people think they are better than everyone else because we have a far right party in existence is....bizarre.

This thread is the match in miniature. England just need to stand back and watch while Scotland dig themselves into a massive hole.
