[2015 Six Nations] England vs France (Round 5)

If Lancaster had any balls he would bring Cips on at half time!

England have done a very good job to turn around the mess that it was at one point.

No offence, but do you have the exact wording?

Since when do they apply the laws to the letter...?

I haven't checked the wording, but I would be extremely surprised if there was a specific law that did not have some mentioning/explanation of lifting as a qualifier to landing on the head/neck.

It's highly unusual for players to land on their head/neck in any non-lifting tackle - hence why it would be illogical to penalise a non-lifting tackle that results in a player landing on their head/neck.

Also.... this is why I want the laws to discourage negative play - this weekend shows you very clearly what happens when you force teams to have a positive mindset.

Attack and defence are both far more entertaining when teams are actually playing with the ball in hand.

Ben Youngs has had a good game, needs to keep up this kind of form to hold his place for the RWC.

I think my heart is going to give up, I'm only 23.

England are infuritating to watch. We switch from being sublime to being **** at the drop of a hat. Ford and Youngs kicking FAR too much, partly because our forwards aren't going forward as they are taking the ball standing still. JJ is playing well as always and I think Tuilagi will struggle to get back in at 12. Burrell is playing ****, again. Seriously, he's absolutely dire for us right now. Brown doing well but all the forwards need a good smack, they are being lazy, they aren't getting the the breakdowns quickly, they aren't getting onside fast enough and our drift defense is terrible. We need a new defense coach because teams have found us out. They know as soon as they go wide, they will make ground. England have been caught out here many many times but refuse to adapt.

Dunno why the hell we keep kicking it and had a fee costly mistakes. However before first half I'd have taken 12 points ahead!

Not sure about both tries...

Close out the mistakes and I belive we can do this.

Some days they do, some days they don't - much to my vexation.

Surprisingly difficult to find the memorandum but from what I can see, lifting does seem to be a key part of the 2009 memorandum, so fair enough.

Great day of rugby, regardless of the outcome at the moment.

Who'd have thought there'd still be this much excitement in the final game of the day, with the standings at the beginning and the two crazy earlier results.
Hate to use media vernacular, but really has been 'Super' Saturday.
Also, a Six Nations wouldn't be complete without 1/2 knocking himself out tackling a tank, and Nigel Owens giving someone a bollocking.

TBF I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Manu @ 12.

If we play him like we are doing Burrell, Ford is a good enough creative player to miss 12 when needs be and feed directly to JJ.
