Its funny how when you say something negative you get classed as a fanboy or you get shot down by one of the senior members. This is the only place where we get to see anything of this game as the HB website is a disgrace and they decided to use this as their medium. We seem to get more input from the RC team than we get from HB on this forum. I have no interest in going either way at this moment and will most probably get both. I just cant drop this feeling that HB has rehashed 08 and are out to make a quick buck. This is not just based on the screen shots but also on the absence of HB.

Don't let it get to you. Some people just don't like the truth.

I keep hearing about "oh its going to be a battle of gameplay", "oh Sidhe don't have the experience that HB have". In my opinion gameplay will be negated by the fact that one ***le has 20 teams and another will have more than 50 LOL...

But in any event I'm going to buy both. So HB and Sidhe will both get my money, but some fan boys are idiotic enough to think it has to be one or the other... similar to those COD fanboys that everyone hates LOL

I think you'll find that very few people are saying that it should be one or the other. I myself have been saying that both ***les are worthy of our attentions at present. I'm not sure who your referring to, but everyones entitled to their opinion.

You obviously have an insecurity about mine. I don't have one about yours as long as it stays within the forum guidelines about personal abuse etc, so far so good.

I too was also dissappointed in the first screenshots and voiced my displeasure.. But i dont go around in a immature manner doing it. The guys that make the games also have feelings and are human beings.

I do believe I disagreed with kovana about something a short while ago in either a rugby gaming thread or something else I'm not sure. Anyhow the point is that sometimes it's not a bad thing to disagree with someone when you can both be mature about it. So overall great point kovana.

People go on about the stadiums but i couldnt rally care less, if it looks the same or similar. As long as it looks like a proper stadium that what matters. How much time do you spend looking at the stadium in a game?? about 1% for unless its a cup final or something when i let all the cut scenes play to buid the atmosphere at the beginning and end. The crowd is a little more important, if HB could throw in a few flags like Sidhe then that would be great as you would notice that. Plus if one of these has fans singing like 'swing low' in Jonah Lomu rugby that would be awesome. Wouldnt expect it in RC as can understand them not travelling to the NH just to record crowds.
Also people are complaining about there being no ref with i do kinda understand, as having a ref in the picture you would see alot. As long as he doesnt get in the way im all for it, and if he does then the its a scrum to the team with possession. Cause in Fifa nothing happens when the ref gets in the way and you usually end up losing the ball. Some people will say its more realistic, but in real life you have slightly more control over where your passing.
These arent gaming changing features though just extras so heres hoping we get two great games. Looking forward to hearing what HB have to say as it is obvious there are a few unhappy fans. And the sidhe team are alot more responsive to questions on here and thier own forum. Hearing from the makers could help reassure alot of people.

I am just confused as to the lack of communication? Why not just release some clear info regarding the game details? Is 2 months ahead to early? A lot of the negative comments are a result of potential clients getting frustrated with the bizarre methods from HB? It baffles me that you release a new product and refuse to try and market it to it's maximum potential? TRF also has to sit with the effects of this? It makes very little sense. I can't remember when last i have had to wait for trivial info regarding the release of a anticipated game. It feels like they are doing us a favour by giving us scraps when we are actually the customers......the people that will pay at the end of the day. Weird in my opinion...

Well thats good to know. Just know that the people who made both these games put lots of hours into it. Yes we can judge them, and everyone is different, but i distinctly dislike people who just come along just to insult the works of others.

TBH.. Sidhe's game looks better.. The graphics are awesome.. I wanna play it just so i can see if it feels as good as it looks.. I hope so as well.

Yeah this is where i feel HB have let down its customers, they started off fairly well with the Q&As and other threads but since they got their information.....not alot. The last three things they have released, the official game name and detail and sets of screenshots have received a fair bit of criticism which might be a little bit of concern. But rather than let 'these are rubbish' bandwagon grow they should be on here defending them. Mario and Milla (i think) do a great job responding and answers people questions concerns the best they can. Even if it aint the answer we want having an answer is better than nothing. I know their busy, especially this week with E3 but we heard nothing from them after their 1st screeshot release. TRF say they do come on here and check our responses and they are thinking off them. But TRF shouldnt tell us this, they should. Just leave a post saying they understand or are looking into the things mentioned or do their best to answer what they can.
Still have faith in you creating a great game just worried people are gonna stop taking this game seriously.

Yes it does, which isn't a bad thing, it's just that they make it sound like forward play is non-existent, that it's a quick ruck, add players hope you win it, pass out. I really hope not.

At least in HB's games you could try hands in the ruck and/or holding it in to slow it down a little, which was an element of forward ruck play, if very average in itself. I'm really hoping that the very average forward play of HB's past games isn't actually better than whats being offered up by Sidhe.

I'm not saying it's the case, but it's one of the main concerns for me right now. I'm really hoping it proves to be unfounded.

You have to admit that the screens look awfully familiar to anyone who has played R08, the player positioning and team formation are identical to how they would have looked in R08. And with the exception of online play, HB don't appear to have given us any reason to feel very positive about what they will be releasing.

I used to think like you Iverson, that we must support whatever HB put out to encourage future development, but I suspect that the rugby game buying public is only big enough to support one "Franchise". I now reckon that one developer is best, because they will not have to compete for the licenses we all crave.

My hope is that one of these games is successful enough to keep the developers making more, and I have to say at this point, I would be a lot happier with Sidhe winning out simply because of their enthusiasm, engagement with their customers and attention to detail.

I also feel that an NZ based publisher would put more future development into their product, it is obvious that HB are a fantastic developer when you look at their bread and butter products (Fifa, NBA etc). But this same level of detail has always been lacking from their rugby ***les.

I guess rugby 08 on my ps3 with online play would be fine, I loved rugby 08 and played it to death, and that is the problem, I think I've already played this game... for years. (And yes, I base that on the meager evidence of the 5 screens I've seen) I will probably buy it if that turns out to be the case. But I don't think people are wrong to expect more out of these guys, nor do I think they are wrong to be disappointed at the glimpse we have seen so far.

We know they are capable of producing the same jaw dropping graphics as Sidhe, but they haven't. And if they can't put their full effort into rugby games, I'm glad that there is a challenger that appears to be doing exactly that.

Even if both games had fantastic graphics and gameplay, I'd still be pulled towards Rugby Challenge for the simple reason it gives me more. It gives me franchise mode. ITM Cup, Super Rugby + other possible competions from the NH that are yet to be announced. It has exclusive licensing for the All Blacks and Wallablies (and RWC 2011 can't touch those teams for any likeness or anything). It has licensing for the stadiums. And after watching the commentary preview video (where Justin Marshall is pronouncing very foreign names), I'm hoping there'll still be an international competition
I'm afraid, 20 World Cup teams (without licensing for NZ and Aus and stadiums) isn't enough to attract my interest and I'd be worried I'd be wasting my money when there's a competitor out there that gives me more.
