Transfers rumours

Hang on, Gatland was not the only one who selected Powell, Geech and Gerald Davies included.

Aye, I'm a bit puzzled why any Top 14 sides would want him going off of his club form (and partly his international form...).

Then again, Balshaw and Sackey made it in France, so they're not too fussy.

Whoa there - Balshaw is a flakey elf, but he's also a seriously talented player with a proven record of scoring tries where ever he goes, including at international level. I think most clubs would take Balshaw in his prime pretty happily.

Redpath quits as Gloucester coach.

Walkinshaw has said that this has nothing to do with the Sale position, and Redpath has alluded to that, but somehow I don't believe it for a second. It's been a bad month for Gloucester, but he hasn't completely lost the faith of the fans - most think that he can still do a decent job.

Hopefully whoever is brought in will stay committed to exciting rugby, but also cracks down on getting us a decent prop or two, and a lock, in (and a good Championship winger which looks the part for squad cover).

should be popular at Sale, a good player for them in the past, captained them to the European Challenge Cup one year

He's also being linked to the new role at Cardiff Blues, of Director of Rugby. That one would make sense as well, as his kids go to school in Gloucester, and his wife works there too, so he can commute to Cardiff much easier than Carrington.

I would recommend him not going anywhere near the Blues for a couple of years...

How would you feel about him at Sale? Or is there someone else you hope that gets the job?

Don't know really - he's a well liked guy for his time as a player, but no idea about him as head coach etc.
He's not done amazingly well with Gloucester, but then maybe a change of scenery would do him good.
I'd be happy to see him come to us, but then I'd also be happy with Gold, Lam or Kirwan, who have also been linked

I've never really rated Lam. If he can't do it with the talent he has at his disposal at the Blues, then what hope would he have with Sale?

Give the job to Eddie. It's about time he was brought back into the fold.

I dunno, I like Lam - I view Blues as kind of like Scotland where it's individual errors letting the side down rather than anything the coaching staff could do.
Then again that could be way off, I've only watched a couple of their games this season.

Gavin Henson ---> London Irish
Very interesting.
Could see it, to be honest. However they need to sign an out and out 10, not another 12/10 - they've already got Shingler for that, and they've just lost Bowden who's the same.

Gavin Henson ---> London Irish

I assume he rejected that South Wales Scorpions offer then?

I could see him at London Irish, they are losing a centre/fly half in Dan Bowden, and also possible Shontayne Hape so there could be a spot in the squad for him, and they also have several Welsh players in the squad (more than Irish ones)

nooooooooooo Fitzy has been excellent this year why would he want to leave and why would they let him leave?
Issues over central contract I've heard...Probably took a knock to the self esteem here.

Bayonne have cash and provided they stay up they will have a star studded team next year , one that he could well fit into
