:( I wonder who we'll get in as replacements? I imagine Wyles will move permanently to one wing, but who to get on the other?

Nathan Earle would be the best bet if he can stay fit has bags of pace again if they both go a lot of money freed up bound to get some big names would think

Don't mind Strettle going over, but Ashton is still fairly young- would have preferred him to stay in the ap. These guys, Johnston and possibly Burger/Brown leaving would open up a large amount of money (if indeed the salary cap mean anything anymore). I can't imagine they'll place all their eggs in the Earle basket given his inexperience/injury or Elory- I'm sure they'll splash some cash on a winger if this turns out to be true- any ideas who?

Wyles, Earle, Elery, Ransom. They still have plenty of options even without a new signing.

I can't help but (half-seriosuly) think that Clermont have only signed them on the basis of how good they've been when playing against Clermont in the last two years!

Probably not far off there! Wyles has been amazing but is 31 and ransom is more a full back and personally think he's suspect in defence but only time will tell what rumors turn out to actually become reality!

But realistically, you expect us to sign at least 1 winger. Wyles is old, Earle is young and seems injury prone and the other 2 aren't yet good enough to start important matches for us.

Oh yeah, if expect at least one signing. Also, with Wyles he has such a utility role that sticking him permanently on the wing might weaken things elsewhere.

Why would Manu go to Sarries?
He's clearly first choice at his club, a full strength Tigers is as likely to win silverware as Sarries, he's probably on mega wedge and he can't be a marquee signing so anything Sarries can offer it's reasonable to assume that Tigers can offer similar.

Varndell I could see, if he has a get out clause and one/both of Strettle/Ashton is France bound

I don't think it would happen the paper is acting more like Saracens are going to try and get him rather than Manu looking to leave.

It mentions how he might look for a fresh start which IMO is BS.

But who knows.

They could make him their second marquee player but can't see him leaving Leicester very unlikely varndell not a bad replacement for stretts I guess

I think if Manu goes it will be to France. Then for the next four years we will have the daily mail telling us he should be selected for England despite not playing for an English club blah blah blah
