Transfers rumours

Agreed on all counts. However, with respect to Jackson, it's hard toargue that Ulster were poor with him at flyhalf the two times they played Leinster and against Edinburgh in the HCup with close to full strength teams. It's also unarguable that the Ireland u20s look a hell of a lot better with JJ Hanrahan at 10 than they did with Jackson.

Disagreed.

Jackson was perfectly adequate against Embra and good against Leinster in the P12 - something I've seen a lot of Leinster fans say as well - the flaws there were elsewhere. That wasn't a full strength Ulster team in the P12 either, nothing like. Hanrahan's been a better goal kicker, but he's also been getting very little out of his backline in terms of breaks. Results are fairly similar between the two being there as well. The difference in the U20s since the 6N is Gilsenan at 7, Beirne stepping up, and crucially, Furlong at 3.

edit: Besides, murmurs has it we'll be finding another fly-half anyway... although whether it's to be first choice or not remains to be seen.

Here's one for cyRil: Jonathan Thomas to Scarlets, along with Carizza and Campbell Johnstone.
According to Rick O'Shea on Twitter, that is ;)

Jon Thomas would be a good signing for the Scarlets. He might not be international quality any more, but he's still a good regional player, especially considering his versatility. The more second-row cover the Scarlets can get the better, whilst having someone able to cover 8 would also be good.

As for the other two. Any new second-row or prop would be good, so both would be welcome signings.

A few more signings in the tight five (which the Scarlets have the money for, with benefactors making some available), and the possibility of a couple of the U20 front row coming through, and the Scarlets could really be in business next season. They are also missing a quality 7 though.

Two words: Daniel Thomas.
With Warburton having seemingly serious concussion issues, it won't be long before we see Thomas for Wales.

Yeh, I was impressed with him at the U20 WC. He looks to be another skilful genuine openside, something the Scarlets have been missing for a while. It was obvious quite quickly that Jonathan Edwards wasn't really going to be of the highest quality, despite his exploits with the 7's early on. Richie Pugh is far from what's required, while I've always felt that Turnbull needs to be kept on the blindside where he can hopefully develop some consistency in his play.

Also, concussion issues?

From what I gather Cambell Johnstone won't be coming as he failed the medical and Carizza won't be coming as he wanted too much money. Don't know about Jonathan Thomas though.

Seems like it. I recall hearing a few months back that he gets headaches after each match, and in the third test he took a bad knock and was getting sick for a while.

Rob Lewis (London Welsh) -> (Cardiff Blues)
Richard Kelly (Swansea RFC/Ospreys) -> (Scarlets)
Jason Eaton (Taranaki) -> (Newport Gwent Dragons) [As he has been linked with everybody, I am skeptical].

Henson to London Welsh has been hinted at for a while by a few of us commenting on Lyn Jones' defense of Henson during is recent stints at Blues.

Can't see him at the Scarlets though. With his "Bad Boy" history with the Scarlets over the years. Need I mention the side billboard incident??

Should be interesting to see if London Welsh are the ones to give him his final final final lifeline!!!

Plus the Scarlets have two Wales international centres who both should be getting regular game time, and Warren who I don't know much about but Cymro said when he was called up for the Barbarians match he was quite useful. The Scarlets are probably the team who would need him least of all the Welsh regions.

As for Donnelly, I'd take him if we had to chance to sign him. Remember, we're losing both Browne and Thorn this summer, both of whom have been excellent for us imo. As of the moment we'll be starting next season with Leo, Toner, Flanagan and Denton. Flanagan is very raw, Leo is seriously pushing on at this stage and Denton is probably going to be of the same level as Browne if we are very lucky. Some one else is most certainly needed and there are very few top locks out there at the minute. In light of this, it's disappointing that the Leinster branch didn't go after Richie Gray when it became apparent he was on the move. Imagine him and Toner at the set piece....pwar!

Donnelly has joined Shane's team in Japan.

Barry Davies doesn't have a club.
Big boot on old Bazil.

That saying that Barry Davies has a big boot saying has been said for years in defence of him being an average player. Can't think of many clubs that would want him now given his age of 31.

Agreed on Bazil.
Rheon James is another Turk centre, been out for a while through injury.
110kg apparently...

Look at the size of his ****ing thighs!

Not surprised at the Johnstone problem as he made few appearances (6) with only 2 starts last season (although he very much enjoyed his stay in Basque land!!)......Carizza has only made 60 starts in over seven seasons so am very surprised that he has over valued himself or Scarletts must really, really be paying buttons?

Arsecelts have exactly two dedicated second rows ready for next season.
Chris Wyatt still out in France?

From what I've heard from a reliable source from Argentina, Manuel Carizza had agreed a deal with Bristol if they were promoted but it fell through as of course they weren't, so unless the Scarlets are offering significantly less than the Bristol offer he accepted then I'm really not sure it's wage demands. That Carizza to the Scarlets rumour has been going on a while now though, I would guess it's an either/or between him and that Kiwi beardo, who now the Dragons have been linked apparently.

What they been feeding him out there?

Those thighs night break the Scarlets record of thigh size set by Joe Ajuwa who had thighs like two oven ready turkeys

Wyatt 37 now surely packed it in, the last I saw of him was him in this S4C promo
