why couldnt they at least let us save replays? its only the world cup;)

I don't know if we can get video footage, then we could have try of the week/month etc. Are there any programs that can record xbox live?

The differences are only slight. I have enjoyed playing this so far, yeah there are no big advancements but I don't mind. First game I played I picked it up instantly like I was teleported back to 08 which I love. Gameplay is much better than rugby challenge, set pieces and line outs for one. Bummer they couldn't secure more licenses but we can edit which is not ideal but it will do.

You broke your controller? How is that HB's fault?
And ah I see you liked it when rucks were decided before anyone even got to them? Hell I was playing Japan on 08, got tackled NOBODY turned up to the ruck for a good 3 seconds (and when they did my players were there first), yet Japan were given the ball straight away? Simple fact is, anything that makes it a contest is a major improvement on the old system.

No it's not broke yet - but my A button is going. I know there is timing involved I still class it as mashing in comparison to other games.

BTW I was joking a little.

Just as I thought, this is mostly just propaganda. One thing I love about Rugby World Cup, is that it's fans are only either:

1) Defending their interest in the ***le
2) Enjoying or talking about the ***le

On the other hand, there's a whole crowd of other people who seem to get off on telling people what to like and what to think. Fans of other rugby ***les should just enjoy them and promote the heck out of them, not spend all their time trying to bring down RWC.

If it's so bad and the other is so good, why not spend all your time talking about that? Or is this all sour grapes, because that same lovely bunch of grapes is crawling with bugs at the moment? Believe me, I'm sure they're working on a good pesticide for them and when that comes out you can go back to enjoying them again.

this wasn't about bringing down RWC or saying that RC or another game is superior, clearly you've missed the point. I'll put in grape terms for you.
this about buying a bunch of grapes in 08, and then the 'grape' farmer says "you wait till the next batch, been working on it for 3 years. you've never tasted grapes like these before". 3years later you buy from the same 'grape' farmer, u taste it and you're like..... "these are same motherf#$%ing grapes dude...wtf" and the farmer says "it has a familiar taste to it doesn't it, BUT ITS DIFFERENT....promise!!!" then runs off with ya money....jks!

It wasn't worked on for 3 years as people keep saying. It's been in development for a significantly shorter period of time than that.

No-one said that the game would be unlike anything that'd gone before it. The said it'd be Rugby on next-gen (now referred to as current-gen) consoles for the first time and that it was going to build on the familiar game-play we've all played before.

90% of the feedback from people was that they wanted an HD rugby game, many of the game-play bugs knocked out, a harder difficulty, an enhanced rucking system, pick and go, less bunching (there's way less on Hard, it's still there though to a certain extent) and online play.

Yeah I totally agree that people could argue that they haven't delivered an overwhelming experience and executed all of that perfectly. I also am sad they couldn't get more licensing or that licensing was so exclusive for each game. Still, they've more or less delivered mostly what they said they would.

yeah it looks like they've only had 8 months...i joke, i joke

like everyone here, I'm just glad there's a rugby game out. In fact 2 rugby games, yes even with all the bug/glitches...

Just don't sugar coat it to all the rugby fans who've backed you guys(HB.) this far, because no matter how shyt the game is, we will still buy it just to HAVE a rugby game(and still pay full price!).

go play 08 and tell me. trust me there are big differences. and just some advice play a match in co-op with your friend it is really fun. you can run support lines and do switches, i think it really makes the game more enjoyable

Well that sucks. You have to play with a mate to make the game fun? I must admit, playing it in the weekend it was ok but not worth my $98. Rugby 08 will have to suffice for now. Will wait for it to go on sale or something. It seems this was just a money gathering excercise for HB. Don't think I'll be purchasing this one.

Oh Okay I get it, it was like that time when i bought Sid Meyer's Civilization 4 and 5 as a bundle, installed both of them and now playing both of them still, apart from the graphics, i can't see any difference between them. So Farmer Sid F****ed me over on that one too??

sounds to me you just have sour grapes!

Haha @ the grape story. The thing is, they're probably going to run off again with your money and not surface until the next world cup with more promises of new grapes lol.

Hypocritical? Way to spread 'propaganda' about the other game dude. Cheers for deleting my other post pointing this out too.

Yes they fixed the bunching up a teeny bit.

No it's not hypocritical it was an exact demonstration of what I was talking about above it in many ways and also this example of "propaganda" of yours is about me stating a fact (it is very buggy) and about how good the game will be without them. I'm inferring the game will be patched and will likely be very good. That's positive.

Your other post was in the glitches thread. I pruned about 15 posts on there from various members (including mods). This was because of a decision to make sure that HB can read about glitches and game problems only in that thread, not have to sift through other irrelevant data.

I am extremely busy, too busy to spend my time defending this kind of thing. In future to save time you might find that you'll have other posts deleted, if they are irrelevant, distracting and accusatory. I just simply am not going to spend all my moderation time debating.

I'm not sure where HB ever said it was going to be completely different? In fact they said they worked quite had to get the animations working and looking the same on the new engine. The main thing they talked about was the new rucking system and the better AI defence, both of which have been improved.

This is essentially the beta for the new rucking system which if enjoyed they would improve and implement into rucks and scrums in future ***les. That and the quick press chips and grubbers were all I remember reading from AJ's etc posts.

Anything else and its your own fault for probably reading to much into the hype, making you an advertisers dream.

wait until rugby challenge comes out..then we'll never hear of RWC2011..HB biggest dissapointment..cant even play the game anymore

You'd better hope they patch it [Rugby Challenge] before it releases overseas. The game is unplayable in its current state and people all around the Sidhe forums aren't too happy. Better to stick with RWC 2011 in my opinion right now.

For once I thank living in the rugby back water of Canada.

For sure I would have run out and bought RC if it was here.......

It is not "unplayable" tat's ridiculous. I have played it every day since it released. It is a much more complete game in every aspect than RWC, other than familiarity, which puts a lot of people off.

please.... yall stop lying to yourselves!

there are no improvements. cept the cover it came in!

whatever improvements you guys are seeing is just your way of having to live with shyt a rugby game.

if you gave a copy of rugby 2008 and RWC 2011 to a totally new customer/user/gamer to review and test both. They'd instantly die!jks, jks
obviously they'll think its one in the same game!
