You'd better hope they patch it [Rugby Challenge] before it releases overseas.

We have a patch in the works currently taht should hopefully be available at release in Europe and NA.

The game is unplayable in its current state and people all around the Sidhe forums aren't too happy.

That's quite an exaggeration on both counts considering people are playing it generally without issue and the majority of feedback has been positive.

please.... yall stop lying to yourselves!

there are no improvements. cept the cover it came in!

whatever improvements you guys are seeing is just your way of having to live with shyt a rugby game.

if you gave a copy of rugby 2008 and RWC 2011 to a totally new customer/user/gamer to review and test both. They'd instantly die!jks, jks
obviously they'll think its one in the same game!

Challenge Accepted!

showed my cousin Rugby 08 first on the PS2 then Showed him RWC2011 on PS3... for a 16 year-old kid he clearly saw some MAJOR Differences!

for him the gameplay was smoother, less bunching, no more 10m dives from tacklers to tackle the player from behind...

and this just after one game.... imagine what he could detect after a day of play!!

To be fair, the PC version was majorly better than the PS2 version. EA were selling it for a fiver a couple of years back and I couldn't believe the difference

fair enough,

but i based my opinions on the PS2 version then and the PS3 version now... and i can clearly see the differences!!

Yeah the ps2 version is shocking and great for comparison vids. You also don't get the stupid 50 meter pass back anymore if there is no one there to accept it

lol, why would you put anyone let alone your cousin through that horrible experience? :D

smoother gameplay, LESS bunching, no more 10m dives(now just 5m).... LOL... are you kidding me?

those are all MINOR improvements!!

(eg. MAJOR is getting RID of the bunching)

well to me and everyone i know that all the abovementioned ARE MAJOR improvements.

but it's clear here that no matter what we say here, will change your mind!

you might as well be a sidhe Fanboy!

I think if some one read one of his posts there'd be doubt, a few and there'd be a speck of doubt, but after all he's posted? Zero doubt.

I agree - I don't really see the point in this thread. He doesn't class the changes as "major" enough for him, so it seems that he's just made this thread to have a go at the game. Is there really any need? If you don't like it, fair enough: Come out and say so. No need for these vaguely veiled insults

just like you, I call it how I see it!

and its a **** poor effort just to cash in on the RWC!

I'm not anyone's side, but its clear to me now that some brains are stuck so far up HB, they don't see the full potential of what this rugby series could've been!

while ur up there stick ur tongue out!:p..... internal wet willy!

now now, no need for that, we're all grown-ups here... well most of us at least...

I'm not favouring anyone, and if you read my posts on both RWC2011 as well as Rugchug, you would see that i'm 50/50 when it comes to them.

i have played rwc2011 and waiting for Rugchug to arrive in SA.

so i can only give my point of view on RWC2011. it's not a crappy game at all! just come and look at the game stores here, all of them has a game set-up ready for anyone to play, and the people are standing in queues watching! if there were copies available, then the queue would have been smaller.

RWC2011 is selling fantastically in SA because EVERYONE in SA enjoys the game!

to us it's not crap, or a waste of money or time. so leave us be and go moan to someone who gives a crap... maybe your mommy

I don't think anyone is saying there's no room for improvement and its the best thing it could possibly be. FIFA and Madden didn't just turn up and blow everyone's socks off with all their licences and modes, heck when it got to the PS360 half of the licences and modes got dropped compared to the PS2 and Xbox. Those games don't just have big budgets but have been in constant production for nearly 2 decades.

Unfortunately even if we were given the Rugby gameplay equivalent with Be a Pro and a proper manager mode plus all the cups you could shake a stick at it, it just wouldn't be profitable. Even with massive sales they wouldn't make back the multiple millions it would of cost so it needs to be a franchise. Then we get to the next problem, not enough people would buy the game year after year at full price just for updated rosters even if it is still the best game you can play. The Rugby audience isn't big enough to sustain this and EA knows that which is why they never properly funded the original series and eventually dropped it.

FIFA and Madden Fans who regularly buy the latest ***le have probably invested £300 or more into what the latest games are today. That would be a hefty price to pay for one game

Like a lot of posters here who are stuck up RC's arse? Or the numerous idiots who are beloved fanboys? Whom all wash over the bugs and issues in RC? ... Nah thought not.

ok ok, that was uncalled for.... ma bad, ma bad...*smacks on the hand*

I'm actually glad people really enjoy it. I'm not dissing it for the sake of it.

All im trying to understand is how you guys put up with it?

But im not on my own in saying that they should've been more done... alot more to make this game more appealing for hardcore rugby heads like us.

rugby 08 was an awesome game (for its time)... RWC2011 on the other hand is not 'next gen gaming', come on.... u gotta agree with me on that one!

its all what u guys said it is, but its nowhere near what it could've been.

and anyways my mommy doesn't give a crap about games...

Easy!

Come to SA, we have to put up with Jacob Zuma, Julius Malema, PDV, Oregan Hoskins, Eskom, Telkom, the Government, World Economy, Arabs, Greame Smith, John Smit, 7de Laan, Binnelanders, Aliens in Soweto, Soweto...

if you look at that list, a few minor game glitches are the least of our worries!!
