Damn, the glitch thread on the Sidhe forum is putting me off a bit
Will still get it, but there's some pretty bad things in there - like the scrumhalf disappearing and you not being able to do anything with ball (I don't think there's forward pick and drives) so you have to quit to continue (someone mentioned this happening online and he lost some virtual cash for quitting the game and he got % on his quit ratio)

So I decide to visit, all of two pages and three individuals. Horrific, and you call me out for over reaction. PMSL

You are overreacting though - I pointed out the glitch thread, you jumped down my throat yet. again.

Also: If you ****** yourself over that then you have some serious problems.

over reaction much? PMSL

To state either game is a rugby simulation is laughable. Both are rugby games with arcade elements. What differs is how arcdey each are.

True - but that is such a laughable statement in itself.

That said - Rugby Challenge - more arcade like. RWC more realistic.

Well having just won the world cup with england, only for Australian players to celebrate with mine and pose with the trophy!??Q?Q? on RWC I can only hope RC is better....it has to be. This sums up the level of effort for me : Tom Croft-speed-65! Ridiculous. And the few licenses they do have you cant even use official jerseys outside of the world cup mode!

Unfortunately RC is full of glitches, by the looks of it even more so (or at least worse ones) than RWC. Scrum half going missing making it impossible to play the ball or end the match (apart from quitting - which loses you ratings online), Fullback being unable to tackle (literally the attacking player will go straight through him as if he's a ghost) and what I like to call the 12 point try - lets say a player knocks on in his own 5m and the opposition pick up and score, it will award the 5 points then go back for the scrum instead of a conversion, giving another chance to score and convert another try making it 2 scores in one. These are just a few of the ones I've seen over on Sidhe.

Before anyone says, it shouldn't be compared to Fifa & Madden etc it's unfair blah blah blah.

I understand that BUT you charge the same price as the above games - I'm sorry - you should be compared to the same games.

the only good graphics ive seen on rwc is when u play as wales...other than that graphics a shite

Seriously! what are the MAJOR differences between RWC 2011 and R08?

Apart from the obvious, like the name and teams this is what i can see
- button mash rucking....oh wait.... 'controlled' button mash rucking
- chip kick
- umm passing?
- online
- stats editor
- graphics???
- lineouts

I don't mean to take the **** but...;)
this game had all the hype around it and when i finally played the game, i wasn't like "OMG, screw rugby 08 this shyts the bomb!!!". i was more like "umm... u sure this is RWC 2011 game?...oh....sonova@$%^!!"

what are the major improvements from the last game?

go play 08 and tell me. trust me there are big differences. and just some advice play a match in co-op with your friend it is really fun. you can run support lines and do switches, i think it really makes the game more enjoyable

ive played online, 2player vs and co-op. it just feels brushed up, that is all... please list all the BIG differences they've made?

look at call of duty 4 and call of duty world at war.

but anyways can you tell me what is so bad about rwc2011? rugby challenge has so much crap wrong with it, so IN REGARDS TO GAMEPLAY what makes rwc2011 a bad game?

COD has got everything right!

I didn't say RWC is bad, in fact i'll be raping it until RC or even the next rugby game. What I'm trying to show is that with all the hype this game received i thought i was getting the FULL strategic, simulation rugby gamimg experience. just like fifa, madden, fight night etc. And all it really is...... is an updated version of R08... which is what they should've said from the start. thats all. Just stating the obvious. I would've been happy KNOWING that, instead of getting my hopes up.

in regards to GAMEPLAY! could go on all day about the negatives but thats not the point. once again please list all the Major improvements???

Yeah you certainly did. Proved many a point, glad you didn't go on all day about the negatives.

Rugby World Cup is a very playable, contestable game with a solid mix of forward and back play. Sure it builds on past games developed by the same developer, but so does Fifa, Madden and even Rugby Challenge, they've all got loads of elements of previous games by the same developers. None of them are radically different in their core gameplay styles year after year or game after game from what the developer has brought to similar projects.
