Test Match 2: All Blacks v British & Irish Lions (Wellington)

I know what you mean.

TBH i have heard a few England players who played for the Lions say that playing for England would always trump playing for the Lions.

I think the majority of English fans wouldn't trade the 2012 Twickenham Win v the AB's for a lions test win or the 2003 Australasia tour series win over a lions series win. (The welsh fans don't know how it feels to beat them so wouldn't understand it)

Yeah disagree. I dont know how old a lot of people are but i remember watching the 97 Lions live ( on tv obvoiusly) and have to say it trumped the 2003 WC win, every grand slam and the odd win against the All Blacks. Ok i was in the Army at the time and my troop had a great mix of English, Welsh, Scots and Ulstermen who loved rugby and we all followed it avidly but that series win was fantastic and wouldn't swap it for any England triumph.

I think the majority would disagree with you that it trumped the RWC win though.

Yeah i get that but too be honest when we won the WC i went on a massive bender with all the lads from the rugby club but it was more a relief than a celebration. If im honest i rate the 2007 1/4 final against the Aussies higher than that because we were written off so badly and the 1st test against SA in 94 was also very special. The last 4 lions series have been a bit flat but i tend to compare everything to 1997 so i guess i will always be disappointed

Come on the score predictions...

41 - 17, (random numbers but i think that will be pretty much the score) to the all blacks though it is a strong side i just think faz at 12 will give SBW chance to offload and with the speed of one winger and the power of naholo in support its going to be too much

Well let's discuss this then...

SCW was lucky and the only reason the side he coached won the WC was because of the players and he had nothing to do with it? So every player in that winning team has said what a fantastic contribution he made but you know better? And you are a pleasant if somewhat one eyed welshmen who said Gatland was the only choice for the Lions coach because how fantastic he was.

Here is a theory: Gatland only won at Wasps because he was backed by a big money squad and the only reason he won those grand slams with wales was because everyone else was crap and once they worked out his one dimensional style the Welsh started getting hammered again. Yes I know it sounds daft, which is exactly how you sound I'm afraid.
I think the England players must be referring to his coffee making ability

I hope All Blacks win tomorrow and well. Just to shove Gatlands embarrassing few weeks back down his gob. It's genuinely the players I feel sorry for. Because most are wanting to see Lions loose because of Gatland but take him out and would be mad behind team

Same here. I think Gatland has had a shocker with how he's conducted himself in the media. Suggesting Hansen was worried was one of his many screw ups. There's going to be quite a few seriously pumped up players looking forward to giving a Gatland led Wales a beat down at next year's 6N

ABs 19 - 13

With the weather it's difficult to predict a high scoring match.

Tight 5s going to be interesting with the French ref. I'm preparing myself for a frustrating night.
