Squad Selections

Being English, I know nothing about the form of most foreign players, so if I'm in doubt I'm going with the English one, so expect extreme bias.

1. Sheridan
2. Flannery
3. Jenkins (btw, I'm a winger, so 1 and 3 are the same to me. I'll leave the finer points of scrummaging to people who know what the hell goes on in there
4. O'Connell
5. AW Jones? I really have no idea.
6. Haskell/ Croft depending on form. I like Croft better at the moment though.
7. Wallace
8. Jones
9. Phillips? Care's been doing pretty good at Quins...
10. Hook
11. Williams
12. Henson
13. Tait or O'Driscoll
14. Sackey, but if Strettle would stay uninjured for 5 MINUTES...
15. Byrne

I also think the likes of Halfpenny and Noon should be given spots in the squad, if only as subs.

To be honest, Blair should really be guaranteed a starting spot. Unless he is absolutely horrendous this year, of course. He's been the most consistently good nine in the World for a good year...

What the hell is Dallaglio smoking? Payne and Flutey? Having Pornstar and Sack'o'****'s bad enough! 7 players from a team not good enough to get a QF![/b]

God help us all if this is a sign of things to come, I expect some Wasps bias but if it's to the same extent as Dallaglio then we're monumentally screwed come June.

Phillips = :lol:

Otherwise decent enough. If you were to pick an XV based on 6N round one there would be easily 10 Irish players included, looking forward to seeing how many English players make it into Sky Sports attempt!

Guess Blair isn't guaranteed a starting spot. I've never seen him play that badly.
I bet with the Welsh influence in the setup, Phillips will start. BUT HE <strike>SHALL NOT</strike> CANNOT PASS! I hope to God Blair finds some form. :x

Blair can't help it if his bloody pack keeps trying to kill itself/get sent off

Also, any notion that Andy Sheridan be taken to South Africa be put firmly on the back burner. Currently as it stands we have enough decent scrummaging talent elsewhere..

Yeh, but even behind his pack in the Autumn and last year, Blair still shone through. I'll write this down as a one off bad game for now. ;) He'll run the show against France... still losing by 40 points though.

Almost didn't notice that team is comprised of only Welsh and Irish players at first glance. Will be the majority though if things don't change.

Not sure there'd be 10 players in the starting IV from Ireland after this weekends games. Just from Wales, Byrne, Shane, Roberts, Phillips, Gethin, Adam Jones, Alun-Wyn, Martyn, and Powell would be there or there abouts imo. All had very good games today.

is this based on this weekend's performances or just what you'd like to see?

I think Haskell, Cueto, Kennedy and Stefon Armitige were the only ones for England who had alright games, there's the obvious downside from Haskell's performance, but you don't want Martyn Williams to be getting cynical cards either.

Thing is though with those players, Wyn Jones, O'Connell and O'Callaghan, Ferris, Wallace, M.Williams and S.Williams all had better games.

The most impressive scrum half for me was Cussiter, but he only had a cameo appearance, would like to see him start in Paris on Saturday.

Ill be annocuning my XV later on tonight in my blog and also talking about a TRF during the podcast this week!

Shall we say some have got it pretty similar and there may be a shock one or two inclusion in my lineup!

don't tell me you've picked an English player :p

On Cusiter: he came on when Wales couldn't be bothered and were on the back foot.
If he does start in Paris, it'd be interesting to see how he fares then.

Haskell and Kennedy are probably the only England players who should feature based on the weekends games. As for SteffonArmitage, the guy was dreadfull. Hard to see him keeping his place even for the wales game.

after this weekends games can anyone name one scothish or english player that has any serious chance of starting against the boks..................... i cant see any
the only one (he was off form this weekend) with any chance is blair nd for me he is nowhere near physical enough to start .. we need a physical scrum half so therefore its either philips or oleary nd the latter kicks (badly) far too much
again at out half its a three horse race jones , o gara nd kelly brooke
o gara cant tackle nd kelly is too interesder in movies nd modelling so that leaves jones
