South Africa vs. World XV [11 July 2015]

46-10 to the Bokke.

Great first run out for the guys.

How awesome was it to see JDV run on the field and looking like he didn't have reconstructed surgery.

Best moment in the game for me though was Marcell Coetzee's tackle on Taufua. That was awesome!!

9 Reinach
10 Pollard
11 Habana
12 De Allende
13 JdV
14 Le Roux
15 Lambie

20 Pienaar
21 Steyn
22 Kriel / Serfontein

For me. JPP just shown again that the loss of that extra yard of pace has made him uninfluential on the wing other than being a sound on defense. I'd rather have Hendricks there but feel moving Le Roux to the wing and bringing Lambie on at 15 solves a few issues possibly:

- It takes the goal kicking duties off of Pollard who I don't want taking goal kicks in a RWC semi when we need a 100% to get through.
- It brings in an extra play creator what with Pollard, Le Roux and Lambie on there as I feel we lack play making in the centers and need that extra bit of magic to complement De Allende's brute power.
- 15 is far more critical in tight games than 14 and I trust Lambie's nerves over Le Roux who is prone to errors when under pressure despte having a MASSIVE game here.

Toulon and pals looked dire, boks didn't have to do much but had some classy individual moments - Habana's offload off the ground was great, and Pollard is some man!

Considering this "World XV" is a side put together just for this game, why did they have to choose such a dark kit? They should have gone the complete opposite of the Bok's shirts.

The good:
- Our backline in general looked pretty lethal when we had opportunities.
- Our defense was very impressive indeed.
- A couple of our players flared hard MC, Eben, Damian come immediately to mind as stand outs.
- Kriel and Whiteley looked right at home despite being debutantes.
- Line-outs were good.

The Bad
- Scrums were average. Admittedly the World 15 pack are tough but still.
- le Roux and Pollard both had great moments but looked inconsistent overall.
- Wings added nothing.

Overall not a bad start, but far from flawless. The real tests start next week!

edit: As far as the world 15 they were unimpressive with the exception of the loose trio and particularly S Armitage who was fantastic.

Moaning about what?
No one but the tabloids want him in the England squad

Jesse Kreil looked fantastic at 13... the pace of Kriel and De Allende was just causing havoc. JDV showed great awarness and acool head but you could see he was struggling for that extra yard of pace (it'll come).

Prospect of JDV at 12 and Kriel at 13 is absolutely mouthwatering...

Damn it

I didn't see the game via internet but I followed the game with updates on radio (if that makes sense?), Great result for the Boks and I'm guessing here, but under HM, he's playing more of a running rugga style compared with the usual kick and chase.

I can't wait till the Rugby Championship before the World Cup to see how HM balances his team esp with defence.

That was awesome rugby man

That was the first Springbok game I've watched live. What an experience.

And Hi guys ;)

Hello Sker!!

Welcome back!! We missed you.

Musct have been a nice game to watch that! Hopefully I will also enjoy the next game I'm going to watch live, which is in 2 weeks time...

Thanks man! And yeah dude, that should be even more of a cracker!

To be honest though I think I'd want to watch a game like that in my home and on TV, while this was one of the best experiences of my life I struggled to see who did what with my crappy eyes :D
