RBS 6 Nations - Ireland vs Wales - (05/02/2012 -15:00)

Best wishes to Keith Earls and his family, I hope all is okay.

Congrats to Dave Kearney on getting a call up to the 22. I suspect his ability to cover 15 is the reason he's on the bench ahead of either O'Malley or Zebo since the latter two are better players in my opinion.

Zebo isn't a better player than Kearney just yet. No doubt he has more potential, but he isn't as good defender and he doesn't exactly play head up rugby. Kearney will do for now, but Zebo will soon over take him in the pecking order.

I got that error when I tried to sign in from college too oddly enough. Something with a 141 in it if I remember?
Yep, having the same issue.

It's odd a thread with Welsh and Irish and it's only 11 pages long. There seems to be a lack of the normal rubbish we both post.

We need to inspire more debate.

Sexton can't kick.
Faletau can't carry a ball without dropping it.
O'Brien can run in a straight line but can't play rugby.
Ireland can't scrum.
Wales have no backs play: It's all just bosh bosh bosh, even their scrumhalf is a flanker.
etc.etc.etc.

Through sheer boredom I totted up the weights of the two backlines. Wales come in at an even 700kg while Ireland weigh 652kg. The lightest back is Conor Murray at 84kg and Jamie Roberts the heaviest at 110kg. Leigh Halfpenny is the only Welsh back under 6 foot, while both of the Irish centres are.

Well I'm Happy with that team, its arguably the strongest we could put out due to injuries etc. Gutted no place for Ashley Beck - Had a real good run of form (and obvs for the Orange One, cause I just get all sorts of fuzzyness inside when he's on the pitch :p :p).

I cannot wait for this game, really can't. The anticipation is killing me, especially after having a "staring role" in this weeks "Jonathon" - those that understand Welsh/don't mind subtitles can see me accidentally sabotage The Great Gerald Davies' kicks at goal :( :( lol

Gonna be very interesting if the injuries have some sort of effect on Roberts and Priestland.

Back 3 looks very exiting, 2 huge wingers and a nippy Full-Back (works for me :D)

EXITED!!!!

How can you exit a post;)

Jonathan hasn't already been on has it? I love that show. Wnai cadw golwg amdanat ti!

No Jonathon hasn't aired yet, but its always filmed on a Tuesday :D Should be fun, not looking forward to widescreen tv though, should have worn a smaller rugby jersey :p :p :p ahahaha

I was actually hoping the Orange one would feature in some form. Just for Gatland to stir the media, out Henson on the Bench or something! Even when he's playing Average/poorly he still gets my juices flowing. And the women have something nice to look at other than Jamie Roberts ;D

And yes, Mike Phillips is another Flanker, passes worse than most flankers also. No idea what his forms been like in France though :S

Am I the only one who remembers McFadden getting the blitz horribly wrong against Scotland, basically letting them score? Not sure he's a great improvement on Earls tbh.

Why must Cave be injured :(

I'm tipping the Irish front row to come out on top on the weekend. No Lydiate and Jenkins takes the bite out their set pieces and Healy is better than any of their front row in the loose. O'Connell is still a better player than Davies and O'Callaghan vs Evans may be a bit of a cripple fight. With that in mind, I reckon the game will be decided by how well Sam Warburton plays. Should the Irish back three shackle him, I reckon we could do them by more than one score.

I thunk you underestimate Ianto a bit!

I think not! DOC may be off his game... but he still isn't that bad. Besides, Ryan can come on from the bench.

Wales front 3 are dangerous. Gill is no mug in the loose and he offers a decent replacement for Jenkins. Bennett was outstanding during the RWC and Adam Jones is a monster. But I agree regarding Warburton. If he is loose ... he will be loose and dangerous.

Jones is the only one of them that I'd have in the Irish front row. Bennett was good in the world cup, but so was Best and let's not forget that it was 5 months ago. Rory has carried his form on very well into the Heineken cup and Sean Cronin is also playing very well.

If anyone wants to hear Ken "Burley"'s opinion on the game, tune in to newstalk from 7. Guaranteed a decent laugh.

In the pack Ireland weigh in at 888kg and Wales at 910kg Adam Jones is the heaviest at 127kg and Bennett the lightest at 105kg.
