Premiership Rugby 22/23 - Rd 1

Well HT Falcons 17- Quins 14

Good game...our defence is very wobbly especially out wide..but our scrum has won two monster penalties..against a good Quins front row.

Radwan with a cracker and Earle with a length of the field try.

Honestly always thought the knocking ball out deliberately being a pen is dumb when it's knocked backwards

"Fair play" crap but them the rules.

Like anywhere else on the pitch and that's fine so why should it change due to the in goal area
knocking the ball out is a pen anywhere on the pitch. I think it goes back to wanting to keep the ball in play as much as possible.

Indeed it's just cynical in general no idea why anyone would have a problem with it being an offence.

Well if you want that why can you kick the ball out without catching it? Seen plenty of people do football style kicks out to touch chasing balls back.

idk, it was probably introduced into the law book in like 1910 and we haven't really seen a reason to take it out

game's always been about differentiating what you can do with your feet and what you can do with your hands

103 kicks from hand
Tigers with 25 missed tackles is a big stat

Looking forward to the west country derby now.....oh

Well Quins won 40-31.

Mixed opinions...certainly something work on but we HAVE to sort our defence out. It's awful.

Blamire looks half the size...he's dropped some serious weight.

Players that came out with credit today for Chiefs IMO
Schickerling - rate him highly and hope he starts getting starts.

Van heerden - Looks a good old lump

Ewers - Some how looke bigger( and like he bring alot more power in the scrum at 8 on defencive scrums with Capstick covering 6)

Woodburn - Great in the arial battle

Townsend - Needs more gametime but i rate him, wasnt without mistakes though)

But a great effort, especially after having what 3 held up?

Proper nuisance in the lineout but was outmuscled in contact a lot,
Not that surprising as he's young/it's his first start, just got to pack of some strength/mass in the gym
Good to hear he was putting it about in the line out. I'm just pleased he's starting. Hoping that he features more this year for Exeter but I don't know how much of him starting today was down to any injuries or other issues Exeter may or may not have.
