Don't really see why it should if the day of morning is next weekend.
Yeah apparnently we're in 10 days of national mourning (possibly 11, have seen the funeral might be on the Monday rather than Sunday) - next two weekends off is my guess tooTBH, I can see both this and next weekend's matches being postponed.
We do love a good public display of grief-theatre
My research shows that when VI died rugby and field hockey stopped during the period of mourning but soccer continued. The only day other businesses closed were the actual day of the funeral.Don't understand all the people saying it'd be disrespectful for sports to go ahead this weekend
How? In what way?
Black arm bands, minute silence, national anthem, play ball
I agree, but plenty don't; and sports will generally want to play it safe on not offending people.Don't understand all the people saying it'd be disrespectful for sports to go ahead this weekend

Plus the news only broke at 6.30 when everyone would already have been at the ground or on the way. Can't postpone at that notice. The football matches were European, so while it might have been considered, I'd have been surprised if the European clubs would have agreed to cancel for a British Monarch.
Bit harsh to compare to domestic games or call them scum just interested in money for playing.
How many clubs can handle losing the revenue from a season opening home game?
Could be the straw that broke the camels back
You have far more faith in all of the above than me,This would be a cash flow issue as the game would be eventually played. I'm sure there could be some contingency against that from one of the game's authorities, government, banks or insurers.
Thing is cash flow is a huge issue at the momentThis would be a cash flow issue as the game would be eventually played. I'm sure there could be some contingency against that from one of the game's authorities, government, banks or insurers.
