any of you mofo's think she will beat floyd now? if so go to bed mate you have had too many

and the newwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!! Undefeated, Undisputed UFC bantamweight champion of the world Holly "The preachers daughter" Holm

She lit her up almost like Floyd would, Ronda has slow feet and cave man striking, this was no "fluke" she would do it again and again

Crickets up in here 1st World Champion prime boxer (she is a scrub compared with Mayweather) that goes to UFC wins a ***le, Boxing>MMA/UFC (ffs actually she's 34 so probably a bit past prime but not Toney or Mercer yet)

Not only did she transition at the age of 29yo she beat the brakes off the greatest MMA fighter of all time at MMA, winning every single second of that fight holy ****ttttt this is stunning. Boxing is truly so much superior

I wonder when an MMA fighter will win a boxing World ***le, (although there are plenty of bogus ones these days but I'm talking lineal)

"Once in a lifetime does not apply to Ronda Rousey, it´s once Ever - in human history! There has never been a woman like her!"

Crickets up in here

It's like half 6 in the morning for the people who were commenting on the card, not that shocking

I'm amazed at just how bad Rousey's stand up game was. I know it's a weakness, but all the talk was how much she'd been focusing on it etc.etc.etc.
I know Holm is a boxer (and kickboxer) but it's not even like RR looked bad in comparison, she just looked straight up terrible. Zero movement, so HH could just throw straight jabs and connect for fun, terrible guard and her shots were telegraphed and poor - HH could just dodge and counter.
I wouldn't be surprised if RR just quit MMA now. There was talk of her going into the WWE after her contract is up, and she's doing all the movies and stuff now too. She's been found out, and unless she takes some time away from the UFC to work with a new coaching team then she's just going to get exposed constantly.

Shame she disappeared post fight, I'd have loved to hear an interview after all her petty/childish/un-sportsman like conduct pre-fight and even during the fight.
I imagine that a release will come from her camp tomorrow somehow saying the fight wasn't fair or RR was injured or some ********.

I was so disappointed as well but tbf she probably has a broken jaw and can't talk anyway.

I also doubt she will fight again and if she does it will be against a soft touch, no immediate rematch i'm thinking.

Can't believe so many bought in to the hype, she had literally fought nobody. Even I thought she would beat Holm though. I thought Holm was too green in MMA, and she wasn't a big banger in boxing anyway her record was 33 Wins (9 knockouts, 23 decisions), 2 Losses, 3 Draws. I underestimated Holly's footwork which was impeccable and I thought she looked a bit thin and weak and would get taken down with ease. Ronda could not even clinch her she was too slow and even when she did she got brushed off with ease. It literally looked like an angry little sister trying to bum rush her big sister and then getting the don't argue lol.

Him coaches did a hell of a job.

Lost a lot of time for RR in the build up, she was always overhyped but damn.....

Can't see her carrying on now will try and do a Dwayne Johnson and go WWE and proper acting.

I like HH though looked excellent.

How much will viewing figures go down now?

She's only had 12 fights vs 11 woman, its a terribly small sample size, so its not that impressive. Deontay Wilder went 30-0 with 30 ko's and no one called him the greatest athlete of all times in the history of all sports.

I didn't think Tate 2 was that much of a domination tbf, Tate was in the fight the whole way.

Ronda is a one trick pony and one trick ponies always eventually get found out. If Ronda continues fighting she will eventually find her match, WMMA has developed a bit of a following (Ronda is the highest paid fighter in the UFC), the talent level will surely improve and there will be much more well rounded fighters then her that will appear.

The only reason the UFC doesn't have a 145lbs division is so that they can claim Ron is the champ and make the Cyborg fight on her terms. Cyborg will be a corpse at 135lbs, she will have no chance.

And most of that small talent pool are rejects and outcasts from other sports. The best talent is elsewhere probably going for Olympics.

Listen to this woman all class, big respect.

I have re-read a little bit of this thread and the thing that most of you's don't understand is that most MMA fighters are rank amateurs at FIGHTING. So they can easily be exposed. Yes they might have wrestled, or done Jujitsu (or in Ronda's case done Judo) since they were kids, but how long have they actually FOUGHT and what quality of opposition have they faced, the answer for most is not long & low quality of opposition. More than just showing how weak Ronda's striking is, her failure to adapt and cope with the pressure shows that shes still an AMATEUR at the FIGHTING game, just like many mma fighters are, although it has to be said that woeful display was particularly embarrassing

Boxing does teach you how to execute your plan in a FIGHT. Someone is trying to take your head off in a high pressure environment. Experience of that, especially at the higher levels and over a long period will mentally & psychologically already put you several tiers higher than the average mma fighter who has only fought a couple of times. I hate watching novices fight. Thats why so many mma fights should not even be televised!

jfc you're still banging on about this?

Yes I am :D, some chaps that may not have caught up with the thread may like to add their two cents especially the likes of Larksea, Ratsapprentice, Conrad and Nick. I thought they might like some enlightening.

I am very interested in what Larksea has to say about it tbf :)

Dont follow this sport at all but have noticed all the press coverage of the 2 girls. Was the one that got knocked out a bit of a ****?

Anyone see the weigh in?
Looked, to me, like Aldo has got in McG's head.

Also, McG looks sick as hell. Really needs to move up a weight category.

Apparently him and Aldo both walk around at the same weight, but Aldo looked 100% fitter. I think McG has packed on too much muscle, so his cut was harsher. Without IV rehydration he's going to struggle to be fully fighting fit tomorrow.

I'm so so SO hyped for this fight though. Almost impossible to call, but I'm going with Aldo.
I'd be very surprised if it went the distance.

Great weigh in.

Agree with you I reckon it will be a Aldo win.

Between this Rugby and Joshua V Whyte should be a good 24 hours of sports.

Agree with you tomorrow will be epic but regards Aldo vs Connor. Both are tossers. McG for me though.

I've only really got into UFC in the build up to 189 and watching TUF this season. Not going to be able to watch this though with a pretty serious exam week coming up, I'll get the repeat tomorrow.

I'm calling McGregor, he seems to me to be the more focused of the two and has avoided all the bull**** this week, Aldo doesn't seem like the kind of man to play around like he did last night. McGregor's cut is mental, he's bone dry for his weigh ins, he must put himself through hell in the 36 hours before the weigh in.

I wish we we got to see more of Weidman and Rockhold, I don't know much about either but the interaction between the two is a lot better to watch than Aldo and McGregor.

I know you can't really trust bookies, but interesting to see the shift in odds since the weigh ins.
When I had a look the other day they were offering around 1.8 for a McG win, and 2.2 for an Aldo.
This has now completely reversed for a 1.8 Aldo win and 2.00 McG

Round by Round the lowest are: McG in the 1st @ 5.00, or Aldo on points @ 5.50

Aldo is @ 11.00 and 17.00 for the 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Very tempting.

I'm calling McGregor, he seems to me to be the more focused of the two and has avoided all the bull**** this week
...............WHAT?!
Maybe in opposite land or something!?

...............WHAT?!
Maybe in opposite land or something!?

McGregor ignored him for the most part this week, didn't say much in the press conference and it was Aldo messing about at the weigh in. Then in the embedded videos whenever they were training, not that either of those things mean much in fight week, Aldo kept jabbering on about how he's going to kill this clown while McGregor just seemed focused on the fight. Maybe McGregor just ran out of **** to say but I think we'll see a better McGregor and worse Aldo than we've seen in the past.

Not that I've seen much live but I have watched a lot of old fights, most of them from this division.

The bookies thing would suggest a lot of panicky and uninformed bets are being placed too, you can't learn **** from a weigh in in any fight sport imo.
