England vs Tonga (06/11)

If Farrell's got it I'd imagine a few others, at least, have - captain probably has more interactions with other players than anyone else (well, bar scrum training for the pack)

Smith will go straight in to start but if we lose more players it could get super sketchy - like if Smith is out too it's Furbank at 10, Slade backup?
Late call-up for Ford?
What happens if one of the 9s gets it?

Definitely got to imagine there are more positive tests to come if you now have someone from the backroom staff and a player testing positive. That to me suggests it is spreading in a wider area unless Faz just happens to have had close contact with this back room staff member.

Its a positive PCR so in theroy its very much in the squad (surprised they are taking more LFT's). Could see a similar issue with the England Cricket team where an entirely new squad has to be called up.

Also as far as I'm aware it's still 10 day isolation for a positive test, so from today, Faz has to quarantine until the 15th so he's guaranteed to miss the next match.

No apparently he can be LFT and PCR tested again then can play.

Yeah, report I read said he'll do another test later today to confirm/deny

Kinda feels like they're just gonna keep testing him until they get a no and then run with it

+ve PCR test means you have to self isolate for 10 days, a subsequent -ve PCR does not give you the option of which one to pick

don't know why they are putting out a story that he might still be able to play subject to further tests

would not be surprised if Tonga refuse to have anything to do with any attempt to put him on the pitch

Please no Furbank at 10 - Surely he'll go Slade at 10 then Marchant 13? Malins is a very good 10, but hasn't played there for a while.

Well Furbank has played at 10 in the last little while. Slade hasn't …

You sure? I'm checking updated government guidance and according to this (https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection) if you test positive with a PCR that's it. However, if it was a positive assisted-LFD test then he can take a PCR within 2 days and if that is negative he can stop isolating.

If the RFU think he can still possibly play then it suggests he's had a positive LFT.

Plus Malins is out injured,

Furbank was named as 10 replacement for the cancelled Scotland A game, I'm sure EJ has mentioned him as an option there

I've watched a lot of Furbank and he can be shakey at fullback let alone flyhalf, maybe we'll get away with him at 10 for Tonga, but if Farrell is out for 10 days and Smith not ready they need to get Ford in for next week asap.

England rugby say otherwise, I believe without trying to get too pollical have gone to the Johnson school of COVID rules.
